Prof Fathur: Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Kebudayaan Instrumen Diplomasi Modern Yang Sangat Ampuh

Rektor Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menyebut bahwa Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Kebudayaan adalah instrumen diplomasi modern yang sangat ampuh.

“Dalam konteks ini peran perguruan tinggi sangat penting dalam Diplomasi Publik dan Diplomasi Kebudayaan melalui Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Kebudayaan yang menjadi instrumen yang sangat ampuh. Iptekbud memiliki daya mengomunikasikan dan mempengaruhi sikap warga dunia terhadap Indonesia”.

Hal tersebut disampaikan Prof Fathur dalam Webinar “Strategi Diplomasi Publik dan Kebudayaan untuk Akselerasi Program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka”, yang diselenggarakan oleh Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Universitas Negeri Semarang (FBS UNNES) secara Daring dan Luring terbatas, Jumat (22/10).

Prof Fathur menambahkan, melalui Diplomasi Publik dan Diplomasi Budaya, Indonesia dapat memajukan Iptek, dan memajukan Kebudayaan Nasional.

“Iptek adalah unsur kebudayaan, kemajuan iptek berkorelasi positif terhadap kemajuan kebudayaan nasional. Selain itu, Diplomasi budaya memungkinkan kolaborasi antar negara terjalin kerja sama internasional melalui peran akademisi. Potensi akademisi Indonesia terbukti sangat besar dalam pasar ilmu pengetahuan internasional. Hal ini karena akademisi harus terus bertumbuh dengan literasi, kompetensi, dan kerja nyata,” tegasnya.

Hadir secara virtual, Direktur Jenderal Informasi dan Diplomasi Publik Kementerian Luar Negeri, Dr Teuku Faizasyah.

Dalam paparannya, Dr Teuku Faizasyah mengatakan diplomasi publik merupakan upaya untuk menyebarkan informasi, pengaruh, dan membangun opini publik. Upaya tersebut dapat dilakukan melalui publikasi, pertukaran kebudayaan, film, hingga radio dan televisi.

“Tujuan membangun diplomasi adalah membangun relasi dengan negara lain dan membangun opini yang positif. Elemen budaya menjadi salah satu komponen penting dalam mendukung upaya tersebut. Dari sejumlah program dan kegiatan yang jadi alat diplomasi bangsa Indonesia, promosi dan upaya membangun citra selalu berkaitan dengan kebudayaan khas Indonesia.” ujar Teuku Faizasyah.

Sementara itu, Kepala Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi, Prof E Aminudin Aziz, menyatakan Program Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) berjalan beriringan dengan upaya membangun citra positif bangsa.

Sementara itu, Dekan FBS UNNES Dr Sri Rejeki Urip melaporkan webinar sebagai upaya untuk membuka pengembangan dan kerja sama dengan berbagai lembaga.
