Mereka menang setelah menyisihkan perwakilan dari Institut Keislaman Abdullah Faqih (INKAFA) pada lomba pidato dan Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta pada lomba esai dan presentasi. Festival itu diadakan Minggu-Kamis,(1-5/5) di Universitas Indonesia (UI) dengan tema  “Arabian Fairy Tales”.

Ofical sekaligus ustad prodi bahasa arab Mohamad Yusul A Hasyim menjelaskan, Unnes mengikuti 3 cabang lomba dari 4 cabang lomba kategori mahasiswa yang disediakan oleh panitia. “Pada cabang lomba debat kami hanya sampai pada perempat final, dan lomba puisi tidak mengikuti karena terbentur biaya dan peserta,” katanya.

Wawan Gunawan Anggota Forum Komunikasi Antar Mahasiswa Bahasa Arab Unnes (Komarun) mengaku, ingin mengajak mahasiswa dari jurusan lain dan fakultas lain di Unnes untuk bergabung dan mengembangkan minat dalam bidang bahasa arab. “Syukur-syukur Unnes bisa membentuk Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) sendiri. Kalau punya UKM sendiri kan bisa lebih mudah memilih dan menyeleksi anggota yang akan dilombakan sehingga lebih maksimal,” kata mahasiswa prodi bahasa arab yang juga menjadi ketua Forum Komunikasi Penelitian dan Pengembangan Bahasa Arab (FKPPBA) Jawa Tengah.

Pembantu Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan Dr Masrukhi MPd mengapresiasi prestasi perwakilan Unnes dalam mengikuti lomba itu. “Unnes yang memiliki prodi bahasa arab yang baru berdiri 5 tahun tetapi sudah bisa mendapatkatkan hasil dan mengungguli Universitas berbasis Islam di Indonesia.”

Untuk membentuk UKM, lanjut Dr Masrukhi, bisa dilakukan kalau memang ada dari fakultas lain yang mau bergabung. “Sementara ini kalau belum ada, bisa bergabung dulu di Unit Kegiatan Kerokhanian Islam (UKKI). Di UKKI nanti bisa berkumpul dan bersama-sama belajar dan bekerja sama. Seperti muadzin di masjid Ulul Albab itu kalau bisa dari Prodi Bahasa Arab bisa ikut mengisi adzan, supaya bisa menggetarkan hati yang mendengarnya,”  katanya.

    aku harap kelak aku bisa masuk fakultas bahasa arab di unnes
