POMNAS ke-17 Resmi Ditutup, Mahasiswa UNNES Sumbangkan 32 Medali Untuk Jawa Tengah

Pekan Olahraga Mahasiswa Nasional (POMNAS) ke-17 secara resmi telah ditutup pada tanggal 26 November tahun 2022, kemarin.

Dalam ajang yang digelar di Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), Kota Padang, Sumatera Barat itu, mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) berhasil memberikan kontribusi medali untuk kontingen Jawa Tengah (Jateng).

Mahasiswa UNNES berhasil meraih 7 medali emas, 9 medali perak dan 16 medali perunggu yang menjadikan kontingen Jateng menduduki Peringkat ke II dengan meraih 28 medali emas, 23 medali perak, dan 38 perunggu dengan jumlah total 89 medali.

Rektor UNNES Prof Dr S Martono MSi menyampaikan selamat dan mengapresiasi perjuangan para atlet yang telah menampilkan kemampuan untuk menjadi juara.

“Untuk para peraih medali saya ucapkan selamat dan terus tingkatkan usaha untuk meraih prestasi yang lebih tinggi lagi. Untuk yang belum berhasil tetap semangat terus berlatih dan mempersiapkan diri dengan baik masih banyak kesempatan di depan,” kata Rektor UNNES.

Wakil Dekan Bidang Kemahasiswaan Dr Andry Akhiruyanto SPd MPd selaku ketua kontingen UNNES mengatakan, pada POMNAS ke-17, UNNES mengirimkan 51 atlet dan 6 pelatih yang tersebar dari 3 Fakultas yakni 49 mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan (FIK), 1 mahasiswa Fakultas Matamatika Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA), dan 1 mahasiswa Fakultas Hukum, serta 6 pelatih yang berasala dari dosen.

“Alhamdulillah para atlet telah menampilkan potensi terbaik nya pada perlombaan ini. Ke depan kami akan meningkatkan dan membina para atlet menjadi atlet kebanggaan UNNES dan Indonesia tentunya,” kata Dr Andry.

Selain itu, para atlet yang mengikuti perlombaan ini mendapatkan penghargaan Akademik yang berupa rekognisi mata kuliah sesuai dengan peraturan Rektor.

“Tentu kita apresiasi para atlet yang telah mengikuti perlombaan ini dengan penghargaan Akademik berupa rekognisi satu mata mata kuliah. Selain itu juga kita akan memberikan bonus untuk para peraih medali,” ucapnya.

Seperti diketahui POMNAS 2022 diikuti 2.985 atlet yang berasal dari 408 perguruan tinggi di seluruh Indonesia. Kegiatan ini menjadi ajang bergengsi bagi para atlet yang berasal dari mahasiswa dimana mereka dapat menunjukkan eksistensi diri dalam rangka mengembangkan bakat mereka.

Perlombaan ini mempertandingkan 14 cabang olahraga (cabor), yaitu Atletik, Bola Basket, Bola Voli, Futsal, Pencak Silat, Petanque, Tarung Derajat, Tenis, Renang, dan Sepak Takraw, Bulu Tangkis, Panjat Tebing, Karate dan Taekwondo.
