Perkuat Reputasi Internasional, Dosen FMIPA UNNES Diskusi Bersama Pakar NUS di Singapura

Sejumlah Dosen Jurusan Kimia Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) melakukan kunjungan ke National University of Singapore (NUS) Selasa, 21 Februari 2017.

Prof Dr Andrew Wee sebagai Assistant President bidang kerjasama menerima rombongan di ruang kerjanya. Cepi Kurniawan PhD sebagai ketua delegasi UNNES menyampaikan bahwa tujuan kunjungan ini untuk inisiasi kerjasama bidang riset dan student mobility.

Prof Andrew sangat mengapresiasi kunjungan ini karena telah memilih NUS sebagai calon mitra kerjasama.

Prof Andrew menyampaikan, pada dasarnya NUS sangat terbuka dalam berbagai bentuk kerja sama dengan skema pendanaan yang jelas. Hanya saja, saat ini pihaknya tidak bisa menjamin bentuk kerja sama yang tertuang melalui MoU (U to U) untuk program riset dan student mobility karena belum ada skema dari Universitas. Sangat disarankan, kerja sama dilakukan terlebih dahulu antar-staff, demikian pula dengan student mobility.

Menurut Prof Andrew, ada beberapa laboratorium yang menerima mahasiswa luar NUS untuk magang penelitian yang juga harus dikomunikasikan secara personal dengan Professor di laboratorium tujuan.

Lebih lanjut, untuk staff dan student mobility mahasiswa program studi kependidikan kimia, Prof Andrew menyarankan untuk menjajaki National Institute of Education (NIE) Singapura.

Sementara itu Dr Cepi Kurniawan menyampaikan bahwa dalam kegiatan The 12th Joint Conference on Chemistry (JCC-12) 2017 telah mengundang salah satu staff dari NIE yakni Prof Dr Subramaniam Ramanathan sebagai salah satu pembicara utama. Diharapkan dapat menginisiasi program kerja sama akademik dan student mobility di bidang Pendidikan Kimia.

Kunjungan ke NUS diakhiri dengan mengunjungi beberapa laboratorium di Jurusan Kimia dan Fisika. Kelengkapan instrumentasi sintesis dan analisis material menjadi salah satu unggulan dua program studi tersebut di NUS.

Prof Andrew akan membantu memfasilitasi komunikasi personal dengan Professor pada bidang yang relevan dengan bidang riset di Jurusan Kimia UNNES.
