Perkuat Pendidikan Demokrasi, UNNES dan KPU RI Tandatangani MoU

Dalam mengimplementasikan pendidikan demokrasi di lingkungan kampus, Universitas Negeri Semarang berkomitmen dengan melakukan penandatanganan Nota Kesepahaman (MoU) dengan Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) Republik Indonesia. MoU ini berfokus pada pelaksanaan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi di bidang kepemiluan dan pendidikan demokrasi. Kegiatan penandatanganan dilakukan di Ruang Sidang Lantai 2 Kantor KPU RI, Jakarta Pusat pada Sabtu, (31/8).

Penandatanganan MoU ini dilakukan oleh Rektor UNNES, Prof. Dr. S Martono, M.Si., yang didampingi oleh Wakil Rektor Bidang Kerja Sama, Bisnis, dan Hubungan Internasional, Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, M.T, IPM., Wakil Rektor Bidang Perencanaan, Umum, SDM, dan Keuangan,Prof. Heri Yanto, M.B.A., Ph.D. ,Sekretaris Universitas Prof. Dr. Sugianto, M.Si. serta Dekan dari Fakultas Hukum, Fakultas Ekonomi, Fakultas Kedokteran, dan Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan.

Dari pihak KPU RI, penandatanganan dilakukan oleh Ketua KPU, Mochammad Afifudin, S.TH.I., M.Si., yang hadir bersama anggota KPU RI, Yulianto Sudrajat, serta Sekretaris Jenderal KPU, Bernard Dermawan Sutrisno, beserta seluruh pejabat struktural dan fungsional di lingkungan KPU.

Dalam MoU tersebut, UNNES dan KPU RI menyepakati kerja sama dalam pelaksanaan Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi, khususnya dalam bidang kepemiluan dan pendidikan demokrasi. Salah satu wujud nyata dari kerja sama ini adalah sosialisasi pemilu yang ditujukan bagi civitas akademik UNNES.

Dalam sambutannya, Rektor UNNES, Prof. Dr. S Martono menyampaikan UNNES sebagai pusat pengembangan ilmu dan pengetahuan demokrasi terus berusaha menjaga kualitas demokrasi melalui berbagai program, termasuk “Pojok Pengawasan” yang sudah tersedia di kampus. Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan civitas akademik UNNES tentang pemilu serta memperkuat peran mereka dalam pengawasan pemilu partisipatif 2024.

Mochammad Afifudin, Ketua KPU RI juga menjelaskan mengenai putusan Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK) NO 65/PUU-XXI/2023 mengenai izin kampanye di lembaga pendidikan dan fasilitas pemerintah. Keputusan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan ruang lebih luas bagi kegiatan pendidikan politik di kalangan akademisi.

Dengan kerja sama ini, diharapkan memperkuat peran UNNES dalam mendukung proses demokrasi di Indonesia serta mempersiapkan civitas akademik yang lebih aktif dan partisipatif dalam pemilu mendatang.
