Perkuat Jejaring Riset Internasional, UNNES Jalin Kerja Sama dengan University of Auckland

Tim riset Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) yang dipimpin oleh Prof. Nur Qudus, M.T., IPM (Ketua), bersama Dr. Harianingsih (anggota), dan Virgiawan Adi Kristianto, M.Ed. (anggota) melaksanakan kunjungan edukatif ke University of Auckland, Selandia Baru pada Kamis – Jum’at (7-8/8/25). Kunjungan ini bertujuan memperkuat kolaborasi dan riset bersama dengan Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering serta Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering University of Auckland.

University of Auckland saat ini menempati peringkat 65 dunia versi QS World University Rankings (QS WUR), dengan Faculty of Engineering berada di peringkat 37 dunia. Hal ini menjadikan kerja sama dengan UNNES sebagai langkah strategis untuk peningkatan kualitas akademik dan penelitian di tingkat internasional.

Diskusi akademik dihadiri oleh Prof. Asaad Y. Shamseldin, Prof. Dr. Prakash Ranjitkar, dan Associate Prof. Dr. Minh Kieu dari Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, serta Prof. Ashvin Thambyah (Head of Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering), Prof. Saeid Baroutian (Deputy Head of Department), sekaligus Director of University Research. Pertemuan menghasilkan kesepakatan untuk melaksanakan tindak lanjut berupa riset kolaboratif, adjunct professorship, pertukaran mahasiswa, serta publikasi bersama.

Kerja sama internasional dengan perguruan tinggi papan atas dunia ini merupakan wujud nyata implementasi Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), khususnya SDGs 4 (Pendidikan Berkualitas) dan SDGs 6 (Air Bersih dan Sanitasi) yang relevan dengan fokus riset.

Selain itu, kegiatan ini mendukung Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU) 6, yaitu program studi yang menjalin kerja sama dengan mitra kelas dunia. Kegiatan ini juga memperoleh dukungan penuh dari Rektor UNNES serta menjadi bagian dari program riset kolaboratif internasional QS 100 yang didanai oleh DPA LPPM UNNES Tahun Anggaran 2025.

Ketua Riset sekaligus Wakil Rektor IV Bidang Kerja Sama, Bisnis, & Hubungan Internasional UNNES, berharap riset ini dapat berdampak dan meningkatkan reputasi UNNES.

“Kolaborasi dengan University of Auckland menjadi tonggak penting dalam memperluas jejaring akademik UNNES di level global. Kami berharap hasil riset bersama dapat memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan, khususnya bidang teknik sipil, lingkungan, serta material, sekaligus memperkuat reputasi UNNES sebagai universitas bereputasi internasional,” ungkap Guru Besar Fakultas Teknik.

Kerja sama ini diharapkan tidak hanya memperkuat kualitas penelitian dan publikasi bersama, tetapi juga membuka peluang lebih luas bagi mahasiswa dan dosen UNNES untuk mendapatkan pengalaman internasional.
