Selain Mengajar, Mahasiswa PPL di Vietnam Juga Berdayakan Masyarakat

Tujuh mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) sedang mengikuti  Praktik Pengalaman Lapangan (PPL) di Vietnam. Di sana mereka tidak hanya belajar mengajar. Ketujuh mahasiswa tersebut juga terlibat dalam organisasi nirlaba skala internasional yang berfokus pada pemberdayaan  masyarakat setempat. Empat dari mereka diturunkan di kota Ho Chi Minh, sementara tiga mahasiswa lain berada di Hanoi.

Tim evaluator Dr. Eko Supraptono dan Drs. Bambang Priyono, M.Pd  menjelaskan  bahwa kehadiran mahasiwa bersama relawan negara-negara lain di Vietnam  turut membangun program  peningkatkan kualitas masyarakat  berbasis ilmu pengetahun.

Pemerintahan lokal mengoptimalkan  fungsi dan peran masyarakat internasional dalam tutut mendorong masyarakat setempat melaksanakan program pembangunan yang sederajat dengan negara-negara maju lainnya.

Executive Director Volunteers for Peace Vietnam (VPV) Mr. Nguyen Doan Coung menyatkan, program-program internasional diarahkan untuk aktivitas tujuan utama, tetapi juga melaksanakan kegitan tambahan.

Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan secara bersama-sama dengan para relawan dari pelbagai negara Eropah, Afrika dan Asia Timur. Menurut Cuong, kebersamaan dengan pelbagai bangsa merupakan  salah satu konsep mendasar dalam memandang hubungan masayarakat global yang lebih harmonis dan damai secara nyata.

Lebih jauh dijelaskan,  kegiatan di tengah-tengah masyarakat Vietnam difokuskan untuk mengenalkan seni dan budaya dari negara relawan, mengajarkan percakapan bahasa Inggris, memberi pengetahuan yang bersifat praktis, memberi infromasi pendidikan, politik dan dasar-dasar negera dan pemerintahan, mengenalkan keunggulan wisata dan produk perdagangan yang bisa diperoleh, dan meningkatkan wawasan pembangunan ekonomi dunia.

Hal ini dinilai sangat urgen dalam rangka memberikan kesadaran masyarakat setempat bersemangat untuk mencapai kemajuan sebagaimana negara lain.

Sementara itu, para mahasiswa praktikan PPL mendapatkan pujian dari Kepala Sekolah Senior  High School,  Mr. Thay Trurong Van Bi dan tokoh masyarakat.

Menurutnya, perilaku, tindak-tanduk serta cara berkomunikasi menunjukkan budaya yang menjunjung etika. Dalam membangun hubungan dengan masyarakat dan peserta didik, mahasiswa praktikan cukup mengesankan, akrab dan mudah mengenal situasi.
