Pentingnya Data Scientist Di Era Digital, UNNES Selenggarakan Webinar Jobs and Research Opportunities In Data Science

Seiring perkembangan teknologi, Data Scientist menjadi salah satu profesi yang banyak dicari di industri teknologi. Data Scientist memiliki kemampuan mengolah banyak data dalam satu waktu. Dengan kata lain, Data Scientist mampu mengolah data dalam ukuran besar dalam sehari. Tak hanya itu, Data Scientist juga dituntut dapat mengkomunikasikan hasil olahan data dengan kreatif.

Untuk menjadi seorang Data Scientist, perlu menguasai sejumlah disiplin ilmu, seperti Ilmu Statistik, Pemrograman, dan bidang lainnya. Data kini menjadi hal yang penting bagi sebuah perusahaan. Sulitnya mendapat Data Scientist di Indonesia membuat profesi ini banyak diminati oleh perusahaan dan instansi. Webinar Jobs and Research Opportunities in Data Science yang diselenggarakan oleh Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) ini mengupas dan mengkaji strategi dan peluang-peluang pekerjaan serta penelitian dalam Data yang saat ini sesuai perkembangan zaman sangat dibutuhkan dalam perusahaan-perusahaan dan instansi-instansi negeri maupun swasta.

Dalam paparannya Panggih Kusuma Ningrum SH MSc Platform Growth Analyst and Researcher mengatakan profesi sebagai praktisi data seperti Data Scientist merupakan profesi terseksi untuk sekarang ini. Namun di Indonesia sendiri tenaga praktisi data masih kurang.Untuk itu ini merupakan peluang besar bagi mahasiswa.

“Profesi ini cukup menjanjikan di masa mendatang. Gaji yang ditawarkan juga cukup tinggi bisa sampai diatas dua digit. Perusahaan-perusahaan besar maupun kecil mulai menyadari pentingnya data untuk keberhasilan bisnisnya. Hal ini menjadikan tingginya kebutuhan perusahaan akan praktisi data seperti Data Scientist, Data Analyst, dan Data Engineer,” jelas Panggih.

Sementara itu, Zaenal Abidin MCs PhD Lecturer and Researcher UNNES menekankan keterampilan yang harus dimiliki mahasiswa untuk menguasai data scients yakni menguasi data Scientist, data Engineer dan data Analyst.

“Dengan segala informasi yang tersebar luas belajar dari internet merupakan cara mudah dan murah untuk memulai mencari ilmu pengetahuan dan wawasan baru untuk mencari tahu mengenai skill dasar yang harus dikuasai data scientist, seperti ilmu statistika, matematika dan machine learning,” tuturnya.

Kegiatan ini dimoderatori oleh Dr Hendi Pratama MA Wakil Rektor Bidang Perencanaan dan Kerja Sama UNNES dan diikuti 185 peserta dari berbagai kalangan.
