Di Tangan Dosen UNNES, Jahe Hitam Jadi Berdaya Guna

Profesor dari Universitas Negeri Semarang, Prof Dr Etty Soesilowati MSi, Eka Yuli Astuti, SPd MA dan Talitha Widiatningrum MSi PhD meneliti khasiat dari jahe hitam sebagai obat tradisional antara lain untuk memberikan efek aprodisiak atau menambah stamina dan vitalitas, anti oksidan, anti inflamasi, anti obesitas, dan anti diabetes.

Ia menyampaikan, jahe hitam ini juga mempunyai fungsi aprodisiak, ekstrak jahe hitam sering digunakan layaknya viagra alami. Jahe hitam atau dalam bahasa latinnya kaempferia parviflora merupakan tanaman yang berasal dari genus zingiberanceae yang umumnya tumbuh di daerah tropis Asia.

Namun, keberadaan jahe hitam ini belum banyak dikembangkan oleh para petani di Indonesia, padahal manfaat dari jahe hitam ini sangat banyak untuk kesehatan. Karena manfaatnya cukup banyak untuk kesehatan dan saat ini belum banyak dibudidayakan, hal ini menjadi peluang bisnis bagi petani untuk mengembangkan jahe hitam.

Menurut dia, ekstrak jahe hitam menstimulus keluarnya enzim phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) pada penderita erictile dysfuction (ED). Kandungan delapan flavonoid dalam ekstra jahe hitam membantu mempertahankan ereksi yang terjadi dan menghambat atau menghancurkan enzim PDE-5 yang merusak cGMP yakni dengan meningkatkan aliran darah ke organ vital untuk memperlama ereksi.

Eka Yuli Astuti menambahkan, keunggulan produk ekstrak jahe hitam di antaranya dihasilkan dari pertanian organik sehingga kadar toksisitasnya rendah, harga relatif murah dibandingkan dengan sejenis impor, pengolahan dari padat dan cair tanpa alkohol.

Lebih lanjut diterangkan, fitofarmake jahe hitam disajikan dalam bentuk ekstrak serbuk merupakan solusi bagi yang membutuhkan jahe hitam dalam bentuk siap konsumsi yang praktik dan higienis.

“Serbu jahe hitam diperoleh dengan cara ekstraksi menggunakan perkolator dan diproses menjadi serbuk dengan alat kristalisator,” ujarnya.
