Pelestarian Warisan Budaya, Dosen FISIP UNNES Ikuti Pelatihan Membatik

Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Negeri Semarang (FISIP UNNES) melaksanakan kunjungan sekaligus pelatihan membatik di Kampung Batik Kauman, Surakarta, pada Kamis (29/1) hingga Sabtu (30/1/26).

Kegiatan yang berlangsung di Batik Gunawan Setyawan ini diikuti oleh sekitar 150 dosen dan tenaga kependidikan, termasuk 99 dosen yang mengikuti sesi pelatihan membatik secara intensif.

Kegiatan ini menjadi salah satu bentuk upaya FISIP UNNES dalam melestarikan warisan budaya sekaligus memperkuat keterampilan membatik sebagai bagian dari ekonomi kreatif berbasis budaya.

Program tersebut juga selaras dengan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), khususnya SDGs 11 yang menekankan pentingnya perlindungan dan pelestarian warisan budaya dunia.

Pemilik Gunawan Batik, Gunawan Setyawan, menjelaskan bahwa pelatihan membatik merupakan program edukasi yang tidak hanya berisi keterampilan teknis seperti mencanting, mewarnai, hingga melorod, tetapi juga mengenalkan nilai-nilai filosofis yang terkandung dalam batik.

Ia menambahkan bahwa kegiatan ini turut mendukung peningkatan ekonomi UMKM serta menjadi bentuk pelestarian budaya.

Dalam kunjungan tersebut, peserta memperoleh pemaparan mengenai sejarah dan perkembangan batik Kauman, pengenalan motif pesisir dan keraton, penggunaan malam (lilin batik), proses pewarnaan, hingga pelorodan atau pelepasan lilin.

Salah satu peserta, Rudi Salam, menyampaikan bahwa rangkaian pelatihan memberikan pengalaman langsung yang bermanfaat untuk memahami proses batik secara menyeluruh.

Dekan FISIP UNNES, Prof. Dr. Arif Purnomo, S.Pd., S.S., M.Pd., menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan ini diharapkan mampu memperkaya wawasan dosen dan tenaga kependidikan dalam mengembangkan pengajaran, penelitian, serta pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang selaras dengan prinsip keberlanjutan.

Ia juga menambahkan bahwa pelatihan membatik dapat menjadi media relaksasi dan terapi bagi dosen yang sehari-hari disibukkan dengan aktivitas akademik.

Sementara itu, Wakil Dekan Bidang Bisnis, Riset, dan Kerjasama FISIP UNNES, Dr. Sos. Puji Lestari, M.Si., mengapresiasi pengalaman praktik membatik yang diberikan kepada peserta.

Menurutnya, praktik ekonomi kreatif berbasis budaya seperti batik memiliki keterkaitan erat dengan pencapaian SDGs, khususnya SDGs 1 (Tanpa Kemiskinan) dan SDGs 8 (Pekerjaan Layak dan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi) melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat dan penguatan ekonomi kreatif berbasis potensi lokal.

Ketua panitia pelatihan, Nining Wahyuningsih, menambahkan bahwa kegiatan ini tidak hanya bermanfaat dalam pengembangan keterampilan wirausaha bagi dosen dan tenaga kependidikan, tetapi juga mendukung revitalisasi budaya serta menjadi sarana pengurangan stres melalui konsentrasi dalam proses membatik.

Melalui kunjungan dan pelatihan ini, FISIP UNNES berharap para peserta memperoleh inspirasi nyata dalam mengintegrasikan isu budaya, ekonomi kreatif, dan SDGs ke dalam kegiatan akademik, sekaligus turut berkontribusi dalam menjaga keberlanjutan warisan budaya Indonesia.
