Optimalisasi Pertanian Sayur, UNNES dan Mitra Bentuk KUB UMKM Edelweis Merbabu

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) bersama Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) dan Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) membentuk Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) UMKM Edelweis Merbabu di Desa Kopeng, Kecamatan Getasan, Kabupaten Semarang. Pembentukan KUB ini merupakan bagian dari Program Pengabdian Masyarakat Kolaborasi (PMKI) bertajuk “Optimalisasi Sektor Pertanian Sayur sebagai Produk Unggulan Berbasis Pemberdayaan Masyarakat.”

Sosialisasi program diikuti oleh pemerintah desa, kelompok tani, serta perwakilan masyarakat setempat. Ketua pelaksana dari masing-masing perguruan tinggi adalah Prof. Dr. R. Benny Riyanto, M.Hum. (UNNES), Dr. Hary Suswanto, S.T., M.T. (UM), dan Dr. Bara Yudhistira, S.TP., M.Sc. (UNS), dengan dukungan tim dosen UNNES yaitu Prof. Dr. Suci Hatiningsih DWP, Prof. Dr. Widya Hary Cahyati, Sunyoto, S.T., M.T., dan Prof. Dr. Isti Hidayah, M.Pd.

Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Dr. Hary menekankan pentingnya penerapan Teknologi Tepat Guna (TTG) serta diversifikasi produk olahan untuk meningkatkan daya saing. Dr. Bara dari UNS menyampaikan materi tentang peningkatan kapasitas dan kompetensi SDM, sementara Prof. Suci dari UNNES menjelaskan strategi manajemen kelembagaan, sertifikasi produk, hingga pelatihan pemasaran.

Prof. Benny Riyanto menyampaikan bahwa terbentuknya KUB UMKM Edelweis Merbabu menjadi langkah penting bagi Desa Kopeng.

“Kami berharap KUB ini tidak hanya menguatkan ekonomi masyarakat melalui olahan hasil tani kentang, tetapi juga menciptakan ekosistem pemberdayaan yang berkelanjutan,” ungkapnya.

Hasil kegiatan ini adalah terbentuknya KUB UMKM Edelweis Merbabu yang diketuai oleh Joko Susilo melalui SK Kepala Desa Kopeng Nomor 400/019/2025. KUB ini mewadahi perwakilan dari sembilan dusun di Desa Kopeng dan berfokus pada pengolahan hasil tani kentang sebagai produk unggulan lokal.

Kepala Desa Kopeng, Rebo Sarwoto, menyambut baik program ini.

“Kami sangat berterima kasih atas pendampingan dari UNNES dan perguruan tinggi mitra. Semoga KUB ini bisa membawa manfaat nyata bagi warga Desa Kopeng, khususnya petani kentang,” ujarnya.

Adapun target pengembangan yang telah disepakati meliputi penyediaan mesin perajang kentang, alat penggorengan, mesin spinner, dan mesin wrapping. Tim juga memberikan pelatihan pembuatan aneka keripik, desain kemasan yang siap didaftarkan, merek dagang, legalitas Pangan Industri Rumah Tangga (PIRT), serta strategi pemasaran offline maupun online.

Ke depan, KUB UMKM Edelweis Merbabu diharapkan menjadi motor penggerak branding Desa Kopeng berbasis hasil tani kentang. Dengan dukungan TTG, pendampingan perguruan tinggi, serta keterlibatan masyarakat, program ini diharapkan mampu memperkuat kapasitas ekonomi dan sosial warga, sekaligus menjaga keberlanjutan lingkungan.
