Nyonya Meneer Gandeng Unnes Kembangkan Jamu

PT Nyonya Meneer dan Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) bersepakat menjalin kerja sama untuk mengembangkan kompetensi dan peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia (SDM).

Selain itu, juga kerja sama bertujuan membina hubungan kelembagaan dalam melaksanakan tri dharma perguruan tinggi, yakni pendidikan, penelitian, dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat.

Penandatanganan nota kesepahaman dilakukan Rektor Unnes Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum dengan President Direktur PT Njonja Meneer Dr Charler Saerang, Rabu (14/5), di auditorium kampus Sekaran.

Rektor Unnes mengatakan, Unnes mempunyai visi sebagai Univertas Konservasi yang terus mengupayakan pengembangannya menjadi bertaraf internasional. Pengelolaan dilakukan dengan cara Sehat Unggul dan Sejahtera.

“Pengembangan konservasi meliputi konservasi fisik dan konservasi nilai atau karakter. Konservasi fisik di antaranya dengan mengembangkan green campus dan pengelolaan limbah,” ujarnya.

Terkait dengan kerja sama ini, PT Nyonya Meneer mengajak kedua belah pihak mengembangkan tanaman jamu di Unnes dan mengajak mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan karakter berwirausaha sebagai wirausahawan muda. Selain itu juga mengadakan penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat terkait tanaman herbal.

Dr Charles Saerang menyampaikan, salah satu bentuk riil yang akan dikembangkan PT Nyonya Meneer bersama Unnes adalah tanaman jamu. “Karena saya melihat ada peluang yang bagus untuk para pendidik dan mahasiswa di sini,” kata dia.

Ke depan, mahasiswa bisa lebih mendalami tentang jamu, termasuk cara pengembangannya. “Unnes sebagai Universitas Konservasi sangat pas karena konsen dengan lingkungan,” tuturnya.

Konservasi lingkungan, menurut Dr Charles, termasuk tanaman jamu juga akan punah jika tidak dijaga. Maka, untuk mencegah kepunahan itu, dalam kerja sama ini tanaman jamu akan ditanam di kampus Unnes.

“Mahasiswa kita ‘sentuh’ supaya mereka mengerti bahwa jamu itu sangat penting, tidak hanya dari segi budaya tapi juga dari faktor pendidikan, karena pendidikan jamu masih sangat kurang,” kata dia.

    Selamat datang Nyonya Meneer di kampus konservasi Unnes, kerjsama Unnes sekarang lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan sebelumnya, Kesuksesan Rektor Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum telah membuka lembaran baru kampus Unnes yang ramah dan banyak yang mau mendaftarkan diri kerjasama dengan Unnes.
