Civitas Prodi Sarjana Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) di bawah bimbingan Bapak Adi Satrio Ardiansyah, S.Pd., M.Pd., menghadirkan inovasi pembelajaran bertajuk RENTENG, sebuah eksplorasi etnomatematika yang terinspirasi dari motif batik Geblek Renteng khas Kulon Progo, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Tim pengembang yang terdiri dari Hasna’ Azzah Yumna, Faiza Jasmine Syakir, Aulia Nur Azizah, Dwita Juliandira, dan Muhamad Wildan Alfiansyah berhasil menciptakan bahan ajar transformasi geometri yang menggabungkan nilai-nilai budaya lokal dengan konsep matematis modern.

Motif batik Geblek Renteng yang menampilkan bentuk seperti rantai dari makanan tradisional “geblek” memiliki pola berulang dan simetris yang sangat kaya akan konsep translasi, refleksi, rotasi, dan dilatasi. Pola tersebut kemudian diolah menjadi media pembelajaran yang membantu siswa memahami konsep transformasi geometri secara kontekstual dan menyenangkan.

Inovasi ini berangkat dari semangat untuk menjadikan matematika lebih hidup, dekat dengan keseharian siswa, dan relevan dengan warisan budaya bangsa. Melalui pendekatan etnomatematika, para mahasiswa UNNES menunjukkan bahwa pelajaran matematika tidak selalu identik dengan angka dan rumus yang kaku, tetapi juga bisa menjadi sarana untuk menanamkan rasa cinta terhadap budaya Indonesia.

Selain memperkaya pengalaman belajar siswa, karya ini juga mendukung program Kurikulum Merdeka yang menekankan pembelajaran kontekstual, bermakna, dan berorientasi pada Profil Pelajar Pancasila. RENTENG menjadi contoh nyata bagaimana pembelajaran dapat mengintegrasikan literasi numerasi dengan pelestarian budaya lokal dalam satu kesatuan utuh.

Dengan hadirnya bahan ajar RENTENG, diharapkan siswa dapat belajar matematika dengan cara yang lebih menyenangkan sekaligus mengenal kekayaan budaya Indonesia. Inovasi ini juga menjadi wujud nyata kontribusi generasi muda dalam membangun pendidikan yang kreatif, kontekstual, dan berakar pada identitas bangsa.
