Kamis (12/12), Prodi Fisika kembali menyelenggarakan FGD Kurikulum seri ke-3. Kegiatan diskusi yang berlangsung secara daring ini terkait pembaruan kurikulum Program Studi Fisika S1 FMIPA Universitas Negeri Semarang. Dr. Artoto Arkundato, Koordinator Grup Riset Fisika Komputasi Material Terapan dan Energi FMIPA Universitas Jember, sebagai narasumber dalam kegiatan ini menggarisbawahi bahwa keterampilan dalam coding, khususnya menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Python, menjadi sangat krusial mengingat pesatnya perkembangan kecerdasan buatan (AI) dan penerapannya dalam berbagai bidang. Oleh karena itu, kurikulum Prodi Fisika S1 FMIPA Universitas Negeri Semarang perlu mengakomodasi peningkatan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam komputasi, baik untuk analisis data, pengembangan material, maupun aplikasi dalam bidang energi.

Selain itu, diskusi juga menyoroti perlunya penyesuaian jumlah mata kuliah wajib dan pilihan agar dapat memberikan fleksibilitas bagi mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan konsentrasi atau kelompok riset yang diminati. Pembaruan kurikulum juga perlu mencakup kolaborasi antara disiplin ilmu, mengingat Fisika Komputasi memiliki potensi besar untuk berinteraksi dengan berbagai bidang lain seperti Kebumian, Instrumentasi, dan Fisika Medik. Kerjasama antara dosen fisika dan praktisi dari luar juga dianggap penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran dan pengembangan dosen, dengan mengundang pakar untuk memberikan materi tambahan.

Akhirnya, diskusi ini menekankan pentingnya pengembangan kurikulum yang responsif terhadap perkembangan teknologi dan kebutuhan industri, serta memastikan bahwa para mahasiswa Prodi Fisika S1 Universitas Negeri Semarang memiliki keterampilan yang relevan dengan dunia kerja yang semakin mengedepankan kemampuan dalam komputasi dan riset berbasis data. Dengan rekomendasi-rekomendasi ini, diharapkan kurikulum Prodi Fisika S1 dapat menghasilkan lulusan yang lebih siap menghadapi tantangan masa depan dan berkontribusi dalam kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan serta teknologi.
