Semarang, 6 November 2024 – Laboratorium Terpadu Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Negeri Semarang (FMIPA UNNES) mengadakan pelatihan dan demo alat X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) merk Z-Spec, sebuah perangkat canggih untuk analisis unsur sub part per million (sub PPM). Kegiatan yang ini berlangsung di Aula Gedung D7 lantai 3 FMIPA UNNES dibuka oleh Dr. Sigit Priyatmoko, M.Si., yang sekaligus bertindak sebagai Kepala Laboratorium Terpadu FMIPA UNNES.

Pelatihan ini menghadirkan dua pemateri utama yang berpengalaman dalam bidang XRF dan teknologi analisis unsur: Susilawati, S.T., Product Support dari PT PANTHERINA, Bekasi, dan Nafil Nur Azizah, S.T., Sales Engineer. Dalam kesempatan tersebut, para pemateri membawakan presentasi berjudul “High Definition X-Ray Fluorescent (HD XRF) untuk Analisa Unsur Sub PPM pada Produk Makanan, Pertanian, dan Tanah”.
X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) adalah teknik analisis material yang menggunakan sinar-X untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengukur konsentrasi elemen atau unsur kimia dalam sampel. Dalam teknik XRF, sinar-X ditembakkan ke permukaan sampel, menyebabkan atom-atom di dalamnya memancarkan cahaya atau “fluoresensi” pada panjang gelombang tertentu. Setiap unsur memiliki panjang gelombang yang unik, sehingga intensitas cahaya ini dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi elemen dan konsentrasinya di dalam sampel. Kelebihan XRF adalah cepat, preparasi mudah dan murah, tidak merusak sampel, dan dapat digunakan pada berbagai jenis material seperti cairan, padatan, dan bubuk.

Alat XRF Z-Spec yang didemonstrasikan merupakan salah satu produk unggulan dari Amerika, serta dilengkapi dengan dukungan teknologi dari vendor Z-Spec dan Rigaku, Amerika Serikat. Dengan teknologi HD XRF, alat ini mampu memberikan kemampuan deteksi unsur dengan sensitivitas yang sangat tinggi, cocok untuk berbagai aplikasi analisis bahan dalam sektor makanan, produk pertanian, dan penelitian tanah.

Dalam pelatihan ini, Susilawati, S.T. menjelaskan secara rinci mengenai spesifikasi teknis dan pengoperasian dasar alat Z-Spec XRF. Ia menunjukkan cara penggunaan alat untuk mendeteksi elemen hingga tingkat sub PPM dengan akurasi tinggi.
Dr. Sigit Priyatmoko, M.Si. dalam sambutannya mengungkapkan bahwa pelatihan ini adalah langkah penting bagi Laboratorium Terpadu FMIPA UNNES untuk memperkuat kompetensi mahasiswa dan peneliti dalam teknologi analisis modern. “Kami berharap pelatihan ini mampu menambah wawasan dan meningkatkan keterampilan dalam analisis berbasis XRF” ujarnya.

Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 22 peserta yang terdiri dari dosen, mahasiswa, dan teknisi laboratorium dari berbagai program Studi di FMIPA UNNES, yang tampak antusias dalam mengikuti sesi tanya jawab dan praktik langsung menggunakan alat XRF Z-Spec. Dengan pelatihan ini, diharapkan kemampuan analisis karakteristik material di FMIPA UNNES semakin unggul dan siap bersaing di tingkat nasional maupun internasional.
