Semarang- Kepala BKSDA Jawa Tengah -Bapak Darmanto, S.P., M.AP., memberikan kuliah umum tentang konservasi SDA dan ekosistem khususnya di Jawa Tengah pada Senin (3/6) di FMIPA UNNES. Kuliah umum diikuti oleh dosen dan mahasiswa dari program studi S1 Biologi, S1 Pendidikan Biologi, S1 Ilmu Lingkungan, dan S2 Pendidikan IPA sejumlah 150 peserta. Beliau menjelaskan bahwa BKSDA Jateng mengelola 33 kawasan konservasi berbentuk Taman Nasional, Cagar Alam, Suaka Margasatwa, Taman Hutan Rakyat, Taman Buru yang tersebar di Jawa Tengah. BKSDA Jateng juga mengkonservasi tumbuhan dan satwa liar yang berada di dalam maupun di luar kawasan dan memiliki kewajiban untuk menyebarluaskan informasi konservasi kepada masyarakat.

Program Konservasi Prioritas

Beliau menyampaikan program-program prioritas konservasi SDA dan Ekosistem yang sedang dijalankan di BKSDA Jawa Tengah. Pelaksanaan program konservasi ini bertujuan untuk menghadirkan data konservasi SDA yang kredibel di masa depan, termasuk data keanekaragaman hayati khususnya satwa dan tumbuhan langka yang dilindungi. Untuk mewujudkan program tersebut, BKSDA menjalin kemitraan dengan masyarakat setempat guna mengoptimalkan fungsi konservasi.

“Penerapan teknologi yang inovatif seperti kamera trap, drone dan peta geospasial sangat berguna untuk memantau kondisi satwa liar dan tumbuhan secara up to date, sehingga jika terjadi apa-apa, bisa segera ditangani serta data tercatat dengan baik” ungkap beliau.

Kepala BKSDA Jateng juga membahas peluang penelitian, pendidikan dan pengabdian di bidang konservasi SDA yang masih terbuka lebar seperti trenggiling, curik bali, elang jawa dan masih banyak lagi. Ia menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi antara pihak-pihak terkait, seperti universitas, lembaga riset, dan masyarakat, dalam upaya konservasi SDA dan ekosistem. Seperti kuliah ini, yang merupakan bentuk kolaborasi antara FMIPA UNNES dengan BKSDA Jateng.

Diskusi dan Tanya-Jawab

Setelah pemaparan materi, peserta diberi kesempatan bertanya-jawab kepada Kepala BKSDA. Mahasiswa sangat antusias bertanya, terbukti dengan banyaknya pertanyaan seputar upaya monitoring, spesies invasif dan perdagangan ilegal satwa liar dan dilindungi serta pencemaran lingkungan di daerah konservasi. Kepala BKSDA Jateng menyampaikan pentingnya mediasi sebelum masuk ke ranah hukum, karena bisa jadi pelaku tidak tahu bahwa ia memelihara satwa yang dilindungi.

Penandatanganan Implementation of Agreement (IA)

Kegiatan diakhiri dengan penandatanganan Implementation of Agreement (IA) antara FMIPA UNNES dan BKSDA Jateng. Penandatanganan ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat kerjasama antara kedua pihak dalam upaya konservasi SDA dan ekosistem di Jawa Tengah.

Kesimpulan

Kuliah umum ini memberikan wawasan yang luas tentang konservasi SDA dan ekosistem di Jawa Tengah. Bapak Darmanto, Kepala BKSDA Jawa Tengah, menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi baik dalam penelitian, pendidikan maupun pengabdian dalam upaya konservasi SDA dan ekosistem. Kuliah umum ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dan komitmen bersama dalam upaya konservasi SDA dan ekosistem di Jawa Tengah.
