Merasakan Sajak-Sajak yang Dipentaskan

Lampu menyorot lima pemusik yang berada di tengah panggung itu. Seorang perempuan berkostum peri berjalan anggun dari kanan panggung. Tak berapa lama kemudian, ia memukau penonton lewat suara suram namun lembut.

Mereka tidak sedang menyanyikan lagu populer, melainkan melantunkan baris-baris puisi. Tiga puisi karya Wiji Thukul diadaptasi dalam bentuk notasi yang kerap disebut musikalisasi puisi. Seorang lelaki di kanan panggung membacakan Surat Chairil Anwar kepada Sri Ajati.

Pertunjukan belum selesai. Sesudahnya, penonton dibawa dalam suasana ruang studio berita. Dua orang pembaca berita duduk di balik meja yang secara simbolis menandakan proses siaran berita di layar kaca. Disusul penampilan seorang perempuan yang membaca teks iklan salah satu kartu seluler dan lelaki yang menyampaikan demonstrasi cara hidup sehat dengan mengkonsumsi produk nutrisi.

Puncaknya, suara narator berita menjadi benang merah ketika secara visual di panggung muncul satu per satu tokoh dengan ekspresi yang menggambarkan carut-marut lewat karakternya masing-masing: anak sekolah, pejabat, dokter, guru, teller bank. Mereka membacakan Sajak Palsu karya Agus R. Sarjono.

Gelaran itu adalah ujian akhir mata kuliah Membaca Estetis mahasiswa peminatan sastra semester IV Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Universitas Negeri Semarang (FBS Unnes), Kamis (19/6), di B1 kampus Sekaran, Semarang.

Tak sekadar mementaskan karya kolosal pembacan estetis, malam itu, Apito Lahire—seniman asal Tegal yang mumpuni di bidang membaca estetis—juga hadir untuk melakukan pembacaan puisi. Dia juga berbagi pengalaman dalam diskusi yang digelar di sela-sela pembacaan puisi.

Dalam diskusi bertema “Tradisi Membaca Estetis di Indonesia” yang dipandu redaktur budaya Harian Suara Merdeka, Gunawan Budi Susanto, muncul perbincangan mengenai formula membaca puisi yang secara teknis disampaikan oleh Apito Lahire.

Tentu saja sambil mencontohkan bagaimana cara membaca puisi yang baik. Sendang Mulyana dan Nana Riskhi, pengampu mata kuliah itu juga turut mempersoalkan salah kaprah seputar seni membaca estetis.

“Bagi saya, membaca estetis itu tak melulu harus dipahami sebagai seni untuk teks fiksi, ia justru harus merespons teks non-fiksi. Budaya konsumtif dan televisi tentu membutuhkan suara yang estetis untuk memasarkan produk,” ungkap Nana Riskhi ketika seorang peserta diskusi bertanya, “Mengapa membaca berita dan iklan dikategorikan membaca estetis?”.

Selaras dengan Nana, Apito Lahire di pengujung acara melakukan performing art membacakan makalah berjudul Merasakan Kata-Kata. Makalah yang berisi delapan tips membacakan puisi itu, ia suguhkan dengan dramaturgi yang tak main-main, dengan teknik dan gestur yang ekspresif.
