Menwa Dapat Lahirkan Sarjana Berkarakter

Resimen Mahasiswa (Menwa) punya sejarah panjang dalam mewarnai proses pendidikan di Perguruan Tinggi. Proses pendidikan di Menwa diyakini dapat membentuk karakter mahasiswa. Kelak, ketika lulus, mahasiswa dapat menjadi sarjana berkarakter yang mengabdi di berbagai daerah di Tanah Air.

Pembantu Rektor Bidang Akademik Unnes Dr Agus Wahyudin MSi menyampaikan itu saat menjadi inspektur upacara pembukaan Lomba Lintas Medan IV Tahun 2013. Melalui lomba yang digelar dua tahun sekali itu Agus berharap mahasiswa dapat menempa diri dan berprestasi.

“Eksistensi Menwa sudah terbukti dalam mendidik mahasiswa menjadi mahasiswa yang berkarakter. Mereka menjadi elemen penting dalam mengajarakan kedisplinan, kejujuran, dan nasionalisme. Kelak, mereka akan mengabdi di bumi Indonesia,” katanya.

Lomba Lintas Meda IV Tahun 2013 diikuti 108 peserta dari 28 tim. Tidak hanya dari Jawa Tengah, sejumlah tim Menwa dari provinsi lain juga berpartisipasi. Tim itu antara lain dari Universitas Malahayati Lampung, Universitas Teknokrat Lampung, dan Universitas Sriwijaya.

Ketua Panitia Moh Fani, kepada unnes.ac.id mengabarkan, rangkaian lomba telah dilaksanan sejak Rabu (26/6). Kamis (27/6) hari ini acara akan dilanjutkan dengan Lomba Lintas Medan IV, seminar bersama SAR Laut, Seminar Nasional pembicara Pangdam IV Diponegoro, Kapolda Jateng, dan Ketua BNN Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Start telah dilakukan oleh Komandan Kodim 0733/BS Semarang Letkol Dicky Armunanto.

Selanjutnya, kata Moh Fani, acara akan dilanjutkan dengan Praktek SAR LAUT pada Jumat (28/6). Adapun pada Sabtu (29/6) acara akan dilanjutkan dengan kunjungan ke Penerbad Lanumad Ahmad Yani, Museum Pahlawan, dan penutupan.
