Mengungkap Realitas Sosial dalam Novel “Ibu”

Sastra merupakan cermin dari realitas sosial ketika karya itu ditulis. Di dalamnya, pengarang mencoba menciptakan dunia yang ideal.

“Tetapi ketika sebuah karya sastra sampai kepada khalayak, karya itu seutuhnya milik mereka,” kata Dhoni Zustiyantoro, dosen luar biasa di Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Jawa Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni (FBS) Unnes, ketika bedah novel berbahasa Jawa “Ibu” karya almarhum Poerwadhie Atmodiharjo, Sabtu (15/6), di Gedung B8 fakultas itu.

Novel “Ibu”, dia mengatakan, mencerminkan realitas sosial pada tahun 1950an, di mana di dalamnya terdapat perbedaan yang sangat kentara antara kaum priayi dan rakyat biasa.

“Di sisi lain, novel ini ‘lambat panas’ karena  menggunakan gaya penceritaan klasik. Saya mengusulkan supaya novel ini ditulis ulang dengan beberapa penyesuaian atas hal itu,” kata salah satu penulis di kolom Sang Pamomong Harian Suara Merdeka itu, di hadapan seratusan mahasiswa. Hadir pula pemateri lain, Nurul Baiti Rohmah, alumnus Sastra Jawa FBS Unnes.

Penyesuaian itu, menurut Dhoni, dikarenakan sekarang banyak karya seni yang berlatar belakang sastra yang menggunakan alur mundur atau bahkan flashback. “Menampilkan bagian memikat atau bahkan inti cerita di bagian depan, merupakan salah satu teknik untuk menarik pembaca,” ujarnya.

Produksi Sastra

Tidak bisa dimungkiri, terbitnya sebuah karya sastra melalui sebuah proses panjang. Pengarang mengalami proses kreatif yang harus selalu diasah. Selain perkara teknis kepenulisan, sastra juga tidak lepas dari pendistribusian dan masyarakat sebagai penikmat.

Di lain pihak, tidak ada karya yang benar-benar baru. Karya sastra yang baru diterbitkan merupakan kumpulan dari karya-karya yang telah dibaca pengarang sebelumnya. “Pada akhirnya gaya penceritaan dan seluruh komponen di dalamnya merupakan ciri dari pengarang itu sendiri,” katanya.

Banyak menggunakan dialek Jawa Timuran, novel berbahasa Jawa “Ibu” diterbitkan Organisasi Pengarang Sastra Jawa (OPSJ), Februari 2013.
