Mendikbud Resmikan Akademi Komunitas Ponpes Balekambang

Rektor Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum mendampingi Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Mendikbud) Mohammad Nuh, meresmikan Akademi Komunitas Pondok Pesantren Balekambang Jepara Jawa Tengah, Rabu (1/1).

“Akademi Komunitas di pondok pesantren itu merupakan yang pertama dan bahkan di dunia,” kata Mendikbud, saat sambutannya. Dengan adanya hal itu, dia berharap 5 – 10 tahun mendatang ada kebangkitan kaum duafa, kebangkitan kaum marjinal dan kebangkitan kaum Nahdliyin yang selama ini dipersepsikan kurang intelek dan kurang cerdas.

“Saya juga berharap di sini akan mencetak generasi yang rahmatal lil alamin, generasi yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir tinggi, kreatif, serta jujur,” tandasnya.

Hal ini, menurut M Nuh,  selaras dengan implementasi Kurikulum 2013 yang titik beratnya adalah pengembangan manusia yang memiliki karakter dan kejujuran. Selain itu, Mendikbud berharap pondok pesantren dapat dijadikan center of excellent dalam menyongsong 100 tahun Kebangkitan Indonesia tahun 2045.

Sementara itu, Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman menyampaikan, Pondok Pesantren Balekambang Jepara selama ini telah lama bekerja sama dengan Unnes, terutama dalam mengembangkan sumber manusia yang meliputi murid atau santri, guru atau ustad, maupun pengembangan akademiknya.

“Termasuk lahirnya Akademi Komunitas Balekambang yang dibahas dan didiskusikan tentang penyusunan pengusulan atau perizinan, pengelolan akademik, dan manajemennya, yang dilakukan di Kampus Unnes maupun di Pondok Balekambang,” ungkapnya.

Ia juga mengatakan, Unnes siap mendukung program Akademi Komunitas di Balekambang dengan pembinaan dan bantuan dosen untuk mengajar di sana.

    Ketika saya mengikuti International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) di AS beberapa waktu yang lalu, saya berkesempatan mengunjungi beberapa Community College. antara lain Berea College. Mayoritas mahasiswanya dari kalangan tak mampu. Perkuliahan gratis, dan semua mahasiswa bekerja di college ini, dan mahasiswa mendapatkan uang imbalan dari pekerjaannya. Hampir seluruh sektor pekerjaan di college ini ditangani oleh mahasiwa, termasuk petugas kantin, petugas perpustakaan, petugas administrasi tertentu, petugas kebersihan, petugas asrama, dan petugas hotel yang menjadi milik college ini. Ada Jurusan yang memproduksi alat kebersihan dan dijual pada industri untuk sebagian pembiayaan college-nya. Mungkin college ini bagus dijadikan tempat studi banding, atau mengundang salah satu pengelolanya ke Indonensia.

    Pak Nuh Mendikbud mantan Rektor ITS berpeci,, P Noor Rektor Unwahas berpeci, dan P. Fathur Rektor Unnes juga berpeci, tiga tokoh yang setara keulamaannya. Terima kasih Pak Menteri yang telah mengajak kami ke Ponpes Balekambang Jepara untuk bekal melaksanakan tugas tahun 2014
