Mendikbud-Rektor Menanam Harapan di Bumi SBY

Bersama Menteri Pendididkan dan Kebudayaan (Mendikbud) Prof M Nuh, Rektor Prof Sudijono Sastroatmodjo menanam pohon di bumi kelahiran Presiden SBY, Pacitan, Sabtu (7/1) pagi. Ikut menanam pula di kompleks Pantai Teleng Ria itu, Wakil Gubernur Jawa Timur Saifullah Yusuf, Rektor Unesa Prof Mukhlas Samani, dan Bupati Pacitan Indartarto.

Sebelumnya, Rektor dan Bupati yang disertai ratusan pesepeda yang tergabung dalam Unnes Cycling Association (UCA) dan Paguyuban Sepeda Pacitan nggowes dari pendapa kabupaten menuju lapangan helikopter untuk menjemput Mendiknas dan Wagub. Keduanya terbang dari Solo menggunakan heli milik TNI Angkatan Laut.

“Upaya Unnes untuk terus-menerus menggalakkan pentingnya menanam, melakukan penghijauan, patut kita apresiasi. Kalau Bapak-Ibu tahu, kampus Unnes adalah kampus paling hijau di negeri tercinta ini,” kata Mendikbud di hadapan lebih kurang seribu orang yang terdiri atas warga Pacitan dan rombongan Unnes, termasuk mahasiswa dan alumni Pascasarjana Unnes asal kabupaten di ujung barat daya Jawa Timur itu.

Mengutip pernyataan Rektor Unnes, Mendikbud juga menyebut upaya civitas academica Universitas Konservasi itu sebagai “menanam harapan bagi generasi Pacitan”.

Disebutkan pula oleh mantan Rektor ITS itu, hingga kini angka kemiskinan di Pacitan sebanyak 17%. “Tadi Pak Diyono (rektor Unnes –Red) bisik-bisik pada saya. Beliau menyatakan tekadnya untuk mengupayakan sebanyak mungkin yang tidak mampu secara ekonomi namun berprestasi itu bisa masuk Unnes dan bebas dari segala biaya kuliah,” katanya.

Lebih lanjut Mendikbud berharap dengan ikhtiar itu dalam waktu yang tidak terlalu lama akan lahir generasi pemungkin. “Yang tadinya dianggap tidak mungkin oleh generasi sebelumnya, menjadi mungkin oleh generasi masa kini. Sebab, selama kita ikhtiarkan dengan tulus, akan berlaku ‘siapa yang menanam akan memetik,” katanya.

Saat menyampaikan laporan sebelumnya, Rektor Unnes menyebutkan, menanam pohon pada hakikatnya menanam harapan. “Kepada generasi berikut bibit yang kelak tumbuh menjadi besar kita persembahkan,” kata Rektor sebelum menyerahkan 200 bibit kelapa kopyor kepada Bupati Indartarto.
