Belajar Wayang dari Sisi Lain

Betapa terkejut Resi Gotama ketika mengetahui Cupumanik Astagina diperebutkan ketiga anaknya. Benda tersebut merupakan pusaka kahyangan yang hanya dimiliki dewa. Terlebih lagi, cupu itu mulanya dibawa istrinya. Namun ketika ditanya dari mana istrinya mendapatkan pusaka itu, dia tidak menjawab sehingga dikutuklah menjadi tugu.

Adegan tersebut merupakan salah satu fragmen yang dimainkan mahasiswa Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Jawa FBS Unnes yang sedang menempuh mata kuliah Pengkajian Drama Jawa Tradisional. Jumat (11/11), di ruang B1-106 kampus Sekaran, para mahasiswa itu menyajikan fragmen tersebut untuk menempuh ujian tengah semester mata kuliah yang diampu Yusro Edy Nugroho.

Apa yang terasa beda pada sajian “wayang-wayanganan” itu? Secara verbal, akan segera kentara bahasa “gado-gado” yang mereka gunakan. Lebih tepatnya, dialek yang beragam. Maklumlah, baik dalang utama (mungkin lebih tepat disebut narator) maupun pemain (bisa juga disebut dalang, karena berada di balik layar dan menggerakkan serta mengucapkan cakapan wayang) berasal dari latar dialek yang berbeda.

Tak ayal lagi, ketika Resi Gotama berucap dalam bahasa Jawa gagrag Solo-Jogya yang begitu ndakik, Guwarsa-Guwarsi anaknya justru menyahut dalam dialek Banyumasan yang kental.

Selain itu, penyaji rupanya tak terbebani untuk mengusung seperangkat gamelan untuk “memeriahkan” pementasan. Mengandalkan galon kosong dan beberapa “alat musik” seadanya, dengan topangan koor crew lainnya, pementasan pun tak kurang gayengnya, meski di sana-sini kekosongan itu tak terhindarkan. Malahan beberapa gerongan sebagai ilustrasi, baik lirik maupun nadanya akan segera mengingatkan kita pada garapan yang sama oleh dalang kondang asal Tegal, Ki Enthus Susmono.

“Melalui mata kuliah ini, saya harap mahasiswa kelak dapat mengajarkan cerita wayang kepada siswa dengan cara sederhana namun tetap menarik dan membangkit siswa untuk selalu aktif,” ungkap Yusro.

Melalui metode pembelajaran seperti ini juga diharapkan mahasiswa tidak hanya memosisikan diri sebagai penikmat pasif. “Sebab, anak muda selama ini menikmati wayang sambil terkantuk-kantuk semalaman,” tambahnya.

Terdapat lima kelompok yang memainkan lakon berbeda pada ujian tersebut. Setiap kelompok beranggota tak kurang dari 25 orang, dan setiap orang memainkan perannya sendiri. “Ada yang memerankan karakter wayang, sutradara, pengiring, maupun membantu di balik layar,” kata Titis Sambodo, salah satu mahasiswa.

“Selain wayang, mahasiswa yang menempuh mata kuliah pengkajian drama Jawa tradisional pada ujian akhir semester nanti dituntut untuk bermain ketoprak. Namun ketoprak itu nanti dibuat sesederhana mungkin, sehingga tidak memberatkan mahasiswa dari sisi persiapan,” kata Yusro.
