Mahasiswi Ilmu Komputer UNNES Raih Juara Best Paper dan Best Presentation di Thailand

Mahasiswi Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) yaitu Erlin Mega Priliani dari jurusan Ilmu Komputer, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) berhasil membawa predikat juara Best Paper dan Best Presentation dalam acara YES4SDG Youth Summit di Thailand.

Acara yang berlangsung pada 10-14 Oktober 2017 ini merupakan serangkaian kegiatan yang membahas mengenai pembangunan berkelanjutan dari PBB atau lebih dikenal dengan Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), yang diikuti oleh sekitar 90 partisipan dari Indonesia dan Thailand, yaitu dari kalangan para ahli di bidangnya, dan mahasiswa.

Untuk mengikuti kegiatan ini, partisipan dipilih berdasarkan proses seleksi yang cukup ketat yaitu dengan menulis essay mengenai salah satu SDG yang diminati. Kemudian setelah lolos, peserta diarahkan untuk membentuk kelompok dan membuat paper yang nantinya akan dipresentasikan.
Kegiatan yang berlangsung selama lima hari tersebut diantaranya yaitu, kunjungan ke Asia Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD), kemudian ke Southest Asian Fisheries Development Center (SAFDC).

Selain itu, kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah simposium di Kasetsart University.  Inti dari acara ini yaitu kompetisi presentasi yang dilaksanakan di gedung PBB Thailand, yaitu di United Nations Conference Center (UNCC).

Erlin dan timnya yang terdiri dari Aditya Parama, Agrian Ratu, dan Carly Scheffer Sumampouw memperesentasikan tentang “Empirical Study of Wheatberries and Wheatgrass” di gedung UNCC.

Kompetisi yang dinilai oleh 3 orang juri dari Thailand ini, menobatkan Erlin dan timnya berhasil memperoleh juara kategori Best Paper dan Best Presentation.
Erlin mengaku sangat bersyukur dapat memperoleh juara di ajang kompetisi international, dan berharap generasi muda ikut serta berperan aktif dalam membantu mewujudkan 16 tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan yang diusung oleh PBB tersebut.
