Mahasiswa Unnes Juara I LKTM di Makassar

Irfan Saptian dan Novita Ana Anggraeni, dua mahasiswa FMIPA Unnes meraih juara 1 lomba karya tulis mahasiswa (LKTM) tingkat nasional di Makassar. “Balas” (Baterai Talas): Pemanfaatan Batu Baterai Bekas Berbahan Dasar Daun Talas (Colocasia esculenta) dan Kitosan Udang sebagai Sumber Energi Terbarukan yang Ramah Lingkungan” berhasil menggeser posisi kandidat dari UGM di peringkat II dan UNS di peringkat III.

LKTM Tingkat Nasional ini diikuti oleh 15 finalis dari berbagai perguruan tinggi negeri di Indonesia. 15 peserta tersebut terdiri atas 3 tim dari Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), 1 tim dari Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), 2 tim dari Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), 2 tim dari Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), 1 tim dari Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), 2 tim dari Universitas Brawijaya (UB), 1 tim dari UNTIRTA, 1 tim dari Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), 1 tim dari Universitas Negeri Malang (UNM) dan 1 tim dari Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS).

Perhelatan ilmiah yang berlangsung sejak tanggal 8-11 November 2013 itu digelar dalam rangkaian LKTM Indonesian Youth Festival of Science (INOVASI 2013) di Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar. Selain LKTM, acara ini juga disemarakkan dengan presentasi Lomba Karya Tulis Sisqa se-Sulawesi Barat dan Sulawesi Selatan, recycling competition, Seminar Nasional, pameran karya ilmiah, dan Field Trip.

Irfan dan Novita mengemukakan pemikiran inovatif dalam bidang energi terbarukan. Sebagai perwakilan Unnes, spirit dan karakter konservasi mereka usung dalam karya mereka.
