Mahasiswa Pascasarjana UNNES Lakukan Field Study ke Malaysia-Singapore

Sebanyak 26 mahasiswa Program Studi (Prodi) Pendidikan IPS Pascasarjana Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) dari kelas reguler dan khusus angkatan 2015 melaksanakan kegiatan KKL (Field Study)  ke Malaysia-Singapore (21-23 September 2016). Kegiatan ini rutin diadakan setiap tahun.

Kegiatan mahasiswa Prodi Magister Pendidikan IPS ini didampingi oleh Prof Dr Dewi Liesnoor Setyowati MSi (Ketua Prodi), Prof Dr Suyahmo MSi (Sekretaris Prodi), dan Prof Dr Maman Rachman MSc (Dosen Prodi).

Selama kegiatan para mahasiswa melakukan kunjungan, studi banding, dan menjalin kerjasama dengan Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.

Kedatangan mahasiswa dan dosen di Universitas Malaya disambut oleh Prof Dr Zulkanain Bin Abdul Rahman (Deputy Dean), Prof Dr Shanthi Thambiah (Deputy Dean), dan beberapa dosen dan staff Universitas Malaya lainnya.

Kesepakatan kerjasama antara Prodi Pendidikan IPS Pascasarjana UNNES dengan Fakultas Sastra dan Ilmu Sosial Universitas Malaya ditandai dengan penandatanganan MoA (Memorandum of Agreement) oleh kedua perwakilan kampus.

Dalam kesepakatan kerjasama itu diharapkan kedepannya mahasiswa maupun dosen dapat terlibat dalam Program Pertukaran (Exchange Programme), baik pertukaran mahasiswa untuk studi, maupun pertukaran dosen untuk kegiatan akademik lainnya.

Selain itu, rangkaian kegiatan KKL (Field Study) mahasiswa selanjutnya di Kuala Lumpur yaitu melakukan observasi dan wawancara di Kampung Pandan yang mayoritas penduduknya merupakan Tenaga Kerja asal Indonesia.

Tujuan penelitian tersebut, yakni untuk mengetahui dan mengidentifikasi kondisi ekonomi, sosial budaya, lingkungan, dan politik masyarakat TKI yang berdomisili maupun yang telah menetap di Kampung Pandan Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

Diharapkan penelitian yang dilakukan mahasiswa dapat menjadi hasil penelitian yang bermanfaat secara teoritis maupun praktis bagi mahasiswa sendiri, maupun bagi masyarakat secara umum.
