Lima Mahasiswa Unnes Mulai Ikuti Kuliah Kepemimpinan di Brunei

Lima mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) mulai mengikuti kuliah kepemimpinan dalam keragaman kebudayaan di Brunei Darussalam. Permulaan kegiatan itu ditandai oleh pembukaan Asia Pacific Education Program (APL EP) V, Senin (7/7), di Brunei Darussalam.

Program perkuliahan singkat enam SKS yang diikuti mahasiswa berprestasi dari berbagai negara selama sebulan itu dibuka oleh Menteri Pembangunan Brunei Darussalam Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Suyoi Hj Osman.
Diselenggarakan oleh Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) untuk kali kedua, peserta APL EP tahun ini berasal dari Australia, Bangladesh, Cina, Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Pakistan, Brunei, dan Vietnam. Wakil dari Indonesia berasal dari  Unnes dan Universitas Indonesia (UI).

Kelima mahasiswa Unnes yang mengikuti kegiatan itu Andika Eko Prasetiyo (Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia), Selma Lady Diana (Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris), Bunga Amelia (Pendidikan Kimia), Zeni Rofiqoh (Pendidikan Matematika), dan Qurrota A’yun (Pendidikan IPA).

Dalam sambutannya Menteri Pembangunan Brunei Darussalam mengatakan, program ini akan membantu pemahaman individu tentang acuan dalam kepemimpinan dalam kebudayaan yang beragam.

Dari Brunei, Selma Lady Diana melaporkan untuk unnes.ac.id, dalam program ini peserta akan menimba pengetahuan kepemimpinan, sejarah budaya Asia Pasifik, dan ekonomi bisnis Asia Pasifik. Selain itu, mahasiswa akan menjalani kunjungan lapangan untuk melengkapi teori, memperkaya pengalaman tradisional dan budaya, serta untuk mendorong hubungan yang lebih erat di antara sesama peserta APL EP.

Menurut Dr Yabit Alas, Direktur Pendidikan Berkelanjutan di UBD dan Wakil Ketua APL EP V, program ini sengaja diadakan saat Ramadan. “Kalian akan menjalani seluruh bulan Ramadan di Brunei. Selama bulan ini, kalian akan memiliki kesempatan untuk melihat pameran berbagai makanan yang dijual di berbagai tempat tradisional dan modern,” katanya di hadapan peserta.
Peserta juga akan mengeksplorasi Gua Niah di negara Sarawak, Malaysia serta bermalam di rumah panjang Iban sekitar gua batu kapur.
