Kuatkan Konservasi, Mahasiswa Baru Wajib Tanam Pohon

Mahasiswa baru Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) wajib menanam pohon setidak-tidaknya satu pohon. Kewajiban ini diberikan kepada mahasiswa untukmenguatkan visi Unnes sebagai Universitas Konservasi.

Kewajiban itu bahkan diikrarkan mahasiswa baru dalam Janji Mahasiswa Unnes yang dibacakan serentak dalam pembukaan PPA, Selasa (19/8). Janji untuk menanam pohon diikrarkan bersamaan dengan janji lain, seperti tidak menggunakan narkoba, tidak menyontek, dan mematuhi aturan yang berlaku.

“Tidak hanya menanam, tapi peliharalah. Tidak hanya peliharalah, tapi ambillah nilai dari itu. Sebab, menanam pohon pada nilianya adalah menanam harapan,” kata Rektor Unnes Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman

Menurut Rektor, universitas serius mengawal program ini. Bahkan, sejak beberapa tahun lalu universitas telah membangun sistem informasi untuk monitoring penanaman mahasiswa.

“Sistem ini memungkinkan proses penanaman pohon dimonitoring hingga mahasiswa lulus,” pungkasnya.

Hingga berita ini diturunkan, pembukaan PPA yang dilangsungkan secara serentak dari 10 lokasi berbeda masih berlangsung. Secara streaming, pembukaan PPA dapat disaksikan melalui kanal https://tv1.unnes.ac.id/stream/.
