KSG-SAC Juarai Lomba Orienteering Tingkat Nasional

Social Adventure Club (SAC) Mapala Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) berhasil menjuarai lomba Orienteering tingkat Nasional kategori umum putra yang diselenggarakan Universitas Wijayakusuma Purwokerto, Minggu (6/5).

Event yang diselenggarakan oleh Mapala Universitas Wijayakusuma Purwokerto ini mengusung lomba bertajuk Wikupala Orienteering Competition. Kegiatan berlangsung selama dua hari sejak Sabtu hingga Minggu (5-6/5).

Pada kejuaraan ini, katagori umum putra berhasil berhasil di raih oleh Tim Orienteering KSG-SAC UNNES sebagai juara I. Sementara untuk juara II dan III, secara berurutan berhasil diraih Tim Orienteering Makopala Universitas Budiluhur dan Tim Orienteering Faktapala IAIN Purwokerto.

Dalam ajang kompetisi kali ini, KSG-SAC menurunkan atlet-atlet terbaiknya yakni M Imron Rosyadi dan Alvin Fauzi, keduanya merupakan mahasiswa Jurusan Geografi.

“Orienteering buat saya adalah olahraga yang unik, kita tidak hanya berlomba untuk berlari namun juga dipaksa untuk berfikir orientasi medan dengan peta. Kesalahan orientasi atau nyasar adalah hal yang rutin di alami oleh para atlet orienteering, dan mereka yg pantang menyerah adalah yang siap meraih juara,” jelas Imron.

“Selain itu, kejelian dan ketenangan dalam membaca peta juga di perlukan, banyak atlet yang panik ketika salah dalam orientasi medan sehingga mempengaruhi mental para atlet orienteering,” tambah Alvin.

Keberhasilan memperoleh juara ini penting bagi regenerasi mental juara SAC, dan sebagai ajang latihan sebelum berkompetisi di Malaysia pada Sabtu (12/5) mendatang.

Ketua SAC Pujo Nursalam berharap, prestasi ini bisa menjadi cambuk dan motivasi bagi anggota yang baru untuk bisa memajukan organisasi pada khusunya dan Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Negeri Semarang pada umumnya.
