Kepedulian Prof Wuryanto dengan Kampus yang Pernah Dipimpinnya

Rektor pertama IKIP Semarang Prof Dr Wuryanto memiliki perhatian besar terhadap kemajuan IKIP Semarang, bahkan jauh setelah ia pensiun. Pada masa purnatugasnya, Prof Wuryanto kerap berkunjung ke kampus untuk menyapa warga kampus dan menyampaikan sejumlah harapan.

Dalam salah satu kunjungan, ia menyampaikan harapan agar lulusan IKIP Semarang menjadi guru yang berkepribadian unggul. Dalam kunjungan lain, ia menyampaikan harapan agar auditorium IKIP Semarang di Jalan Kelud diperbaiki kualitas akustiknya.

“Beliau sering ke kampus. Seperti orang tua kebanyakan, beliau senang bercerita. Saya salah satu dosen muda yang betah mendengarkan beliau,” kata Rektor UNNES Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman.

Jauh hari sebelum itu, ia juga pernah menyampaikan agar UNNES Sekaran dikembangkan menjadi kampus yang sejuk dan hijau.

Selain kepedulian, Rektor mengingatkan, ada dua jasa besar Prof Wuryanto yang patut selalu diingat keluarga besar Unnes. Pertama, ia memantapkan organisasi dari Kusus B, IKIP Yogyakarta Cabang Semarang menjadi lembaga yang mandiri bernama IKIP Semarang.

Kedua, Prof Wuryanto mendirikan Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan (FIK). Saat ia memimpin, jumlah fakultas bertambah dari lima menjadi enam.

Rektor menyampaikan hal itu saat memimpin rombongan ziarah ke makam Prof Wuryanto di Astana Giri Bangun, Surakarta, Minggu (12/3). Selain ziarah ke makam Prof Wuryanto, rombongan juga berziarah ke makam Mayjend (Purn) Moenadi di Makam Pahlawan Kusuma Bhakti, Surakarta.
