Keketatan Bidikmisi Tahun Ini Diprediksi Berkurang

Keketatan persaingan memperebutkan beasiswa Bidikmisi pada Seleksi Nasional Masuk Peguruan Tinggi Negeri (SNMPTN) tahun ini diprediksi berkurang dibanding tahun lalu. Dengan kuota yang bertambah, diperkirakan jumlah pendaftar justru berkurang.

Prediksi tersebut disampaikan oleh Kepala Humas Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Sucipto Hadi Purnomo berdasarkan analisis terhadap pendaftar sementara Bidikmisi pada SNMPTN 2014.

“Hingga Rabu 12 Maret 24 pukul 14.00 WIB, pendaftar Bidikmisi ke Unnes pada SNMPTN tahun ini baru 2.392 orang. Memang pendaftaran masih akan berlangsung hingga 24 Maret 2014 khusus untuk pendaftar Bidikmisi, namun kemungkinan besar pendaftarnya tidak akan sebanyak tahun lalu, yakni 14.915,” katanya.

Sucipto mengungkapkan, tahun ini Unnes siap untuk mengucurkan 1.850 paket beasiswa full study bagi calon mahasiswa dari keluarga tidak mampu secara ekonomi itu. “Dengan beasiswa ini, penerima tidak perlu membayar biaya kuliah serupiah pun selama delapan semester kuliah, bahkan memperoleh uang saku Rp600.000,00 setiap bulan,” katanya.

Sekadar catatan, tahun lalu Unnes mengucurkan 1.750 paket beasiswa Bidikmisi, yang belakang ditambah 100 paket lagi, sehingga total 1.850 paket. Jumlah itu merupakan terbanyak di antara perguruan tinggi lainnya di seluruh Indonesia. Tahun ini, Unnes bertekad mempertahankan “rekor” tersebut.

Sucipto juga menyebutkan, hingga Rabu (12/3) pukul 14.00 WIB, tercatat 14.920 orang yang telah mendaftarkan diri ke Unnes yang tersebar di 63 program studi. Sebanyak 2.392 di antaranya merupakan pendaftar Bidikmisi.

    Harapannya tidak hanya keren karena jumlah BM yang banyak bagi mahasiswa baru, mohon lebih diperketat lagi mengenai seleksi masuk dan pembinaannya.
    Sehingga mahasiswa BM yang terjaring memang betul-betuul mahasiswa yang tepat sasaran dan dapat membanggakan nama unnes.

    Perlu dipikirkan mendirikan universitas/institut, setidak-tidaknya fakultas khusus bidikmisi, sehingga kemampuan dan karakter yang diharapkan dari intan-intan terpendam dapat menjadi kenyataan

    Apakah sudah ada sosialisasi ke sekolah-sekolah seperti tahun-tahun lalu?
    Sosialisasi yang dilakukan oleh penerima bidikmisi itu sendiri ke sekolah-masing menurut saya cukup efektif untuk mendongkrak pendaftar baru.

  5. mantap, semoga dengan ditambahnya kuota ini tetap tepat sasaran. sebaiknya memang perlu digencarkan lagi untuk sosialisasinya karena di luar sana ternyata masih banyak siswa yang belum tahu mengenai bidikmisi ini 🙂
