Kehadiran Training Center Diharap Perkuat Fungsi Unnes

Pembangunan Training Center Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) yang terletak di kampus lama Jalan Kelud Semarang diharapkan menjadi penguat fungsi Unnes sebagai lembaga pendidikan dan tenaga kependidikan (LPTK). “Setelah pembangunannya selesai, tempat tersebut akan menjadi zona training center dan zona bisnis Unnes,” kata Rektor Unnes Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum saat menjadi narasumber Workshop Penyusunan Program Training Center Bertaraf Internasional, Selasa (22/7), di Hotel C3 Ungaran.

Kegiatan yang diselenggarakan Project Management Unit Unnes itu diikuti 76 orang. Mereka terdiri atas Pembantu Rektor, Kepala Laboratorium, Tim Teknis Pengembangan Kurikulum, Kepala Pusat Pengembangan, Ketua Penjaminan Mutu, dan tim pengembang PMU. Selain pembangunan Training Center, kata Prof Fathur, proyek yang mendanai—yakni Islamic Development Bank (IDB)—juga membangun di kampus Sekaran. Kamis (24/7), dilakukan peletakan batu pertama pembangunan Dekanat Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan, disusul oleh tujuh fakultas lainnya.

Prof Fathur juga mengemukakan, tujuan utama proyek ini adalah memperluas akses pendidikan dengan menambah jumlah fasilitas infrastruktur yang memenuhi perkembangan jumlah mahasiswa. “Selain itu diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan tinggi dengan menambah jumlah sumber daya manusia berkualitas dan sarana pendukung termasuk laboratorium,” katanya.

Gedung baru juga dirancang sesuai dengan kaidah green building. Internasionalisasi dikembangkan melalui pengembangan kurikulum internasional. “Saat ini Unnes sudah mengembangkan 10 Prodi pilot project dengan Kurikulum berstandar Internasional pada tahun 2016,” ujar Prof Fathur. Seluruh proyek tersebut didanai oleh IDB sebesar 36,1 juta dolar AS dan selebihnya didanai pemerintah RI sebesar 9,3 juta dolar. Proyek dimulai tahun 2011 dan ditargetkan selesai 2016 mendatang.

Ketua Pengembang Unit Bisnis Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) yang juga Direktur Project Management Unit IDB UNY mengatakan training center UNY fokus pada tiga keunggulan yakni pada akademik, olah raga, dan pariwisata. Sedangkan, Direktur Utama PT Isola Resort Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Bandung Untoro Nugroho ST MT menyampaikan Pengelolaan Training Center sebagai Pengembangan sayap institusi keguruan meliputi dua dimensi, yakni dimensi akademik dan dimensi bisnis.

Dimensi akademik sebagai sarana untuk menumbuhkembangkan pemahaman akan business environment, pemahaman dan sikap entrepreneurship, dan pemahaman akan aplikasi konsep-konsep business management, serta memfasitasi kegiatan riset terapan di bidang manajemen bisnis. Sedangkan dimensi bisnis sebagai sarana menghimpun dana untuk menunjang penyelenggaraan universitas.

    Kita semua patut bersyukur dengan adanya Training Center ini karena selain memperkuat eksistensi Unnes sebagai LPTK dan Konservasi juga akan menambah sumber pendapatan dari sektor PNBP Unnes yang perlu terus menerus diupayakan tanpa harus menaikkan SPP mhs. Semoga kehadiran Training Center ini, seperti harapan Pak Rektor benar-benar memberi nilai tambah bagi lembaga tercinta Unnes ke depan, amin.
