Bersepeda ke Pulau Komodo, Alumni Promosi Universitas Konservasi

Empat alumnus Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) memuai perjalanan dengan sepeda dari kampus Unnes menuju Pulau Komodo Nusa Tenggara Timur. Mereka, yang akan mempromosikan visikonservasi itu dilepas Pembantu Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan (PR III) Prof Dr Masrukhi, di halaman Auditorium kampus Sekaran, Senin (23/5).

Mereka adalah Wartono, lulusan Jurusan Biologi FMIPA sebagai pemimpin rombongan, Rif’an Effendi  (Akuntansi FE) sebagai operasional perjalanan), Dewan Dwi Anggoro (Pendidikan Luar Sekolah FIP)  untuk urusa logistik dan peralatan, dan Adji Prabowo (Seni Musik FBS) yang didapuk sebagai seksi dokumentasi dan publikasi.

“Kegiatan bertema ‘Bike to Campus IKA Unnes Gowes Konservasi ke Pulau Komodo’ ini merupakan kegiatan yang mengangkat komitmen Unnes sebagai universitas konservasi,” kata Wartono.

Dia mengatakan, perjalanan menuju Pulau Komodo ini akan ditempuh selama 40 hari. “Start 23 Mei kami lewat pantura dan dibagi menjadi beberapa etape, yakni Semarang-Rembang (102 km), Rembang-Tuban, Tuban-Surabaya, Surabaya-Porbolinggo, Porbolinggo-Situbondo, Situbondo-Gilimanuk, Gilimanuk Tabanan, Padang Bai, Mataram, Selong, Sumbawa, Dompu, Pulau Komodo, Flores, dan kembali lagi bersepeda ke Unnes.”

Selama perjalanan, mereka akan menginformasikan ke berbagai pihak tentang Unnes konservasi melalui penanaman pohon dan ajakan untuk bersepeda. Untuk itu, mereka akan berkunjung ke Universitas Airlangga Surabaya, Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa), ITS, Universitas Udayana, Universitas Singaraja, Universitas Mataram, Universitas Nusa Cendana, Pemerintah Provinsi, Pemerintah Daerah, alumni IKA Unnes di sepanjang etape yang dilalui,” kata Wartono.

Dr Masrukhi menyatakan atas nama pimpinan Unnes sangat apresiatif atas pelaksanaan tour bersepeda menuju tempat yang cukup jauh itu. “Kami berharap persiapkan dengan sebaik-baiknya kondisi fisik dan mental, karena sekalipun fisik kuat namun mental tidak kuat, mustahil perjalanan bisa terlaksana,” katanya.

“Munculkan jiwa berkelana kalian dalam menempuh perjalanan jangan cengeng, jangan meminta-minta tetapi lakukan sesuatu yang bermanfaat untuk masyarakat dimana kalian singgah dan berhenti,” kata Pembantu Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan.

PR III juga mengatakan, “Di saat malam hari, carilah daerah di pedesaan untuk menginap. Saya sarankan di rumah lurah di desa itu sambil pada malam harinya mengadakan acara dengan karang taruna desa tersebut. Sehingga nanti kalian bisa mendapatkan kenangan manis dan juga kenangan pahit, ada gembira ada susah. Saya mohon jaga emosi kalian selama perjalanan sampai tujuan hingga kembali lagi sampai di Unnes dengan sebaik-baiknya.”

    Sangat setuju…dengan bersepeda tanpa menggunakan BBM akan memangkas kebutuhan energi yang berpengaruh juga untuk mengurangi pemanasan global…lestari alam ku…semoga pulau Komodo tetap lestari yang akan menjadi keajaiban dunia…
