Jurusan IPA Terpadu Selenggarakan Seminar Penguatan Kompetensi Penelitian

Metode penelitian merupakan metode atau cara untuk memperoleh data dengan tujuan tertentu. Penelitian pendidikan merupakan penelitian yang memiliki dinamika dan perkembangan yang pesat. Penelitian pendidikan merupakan kewajiban yang harus dilakukan oleh mahasiswa calon guru baik di jenjang S1, S2, dan S2 serta dosen program studi kependidikan. Dalam pelaksanaannya, miskonsepsi mahasiswa dan dosen serta perbedaan persepsi mengenai metode penelitian merupakan masalah yang dapat menghambat pelaksanaan penelitian dan dapat mempengaruhi validitas dan reliabilitas hasil penelitian.

Hal tersebutlah yang menjadi latar belakang penyelenggaraan Seminar Regional di Jurusan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) Terpadu Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). Jurusan IPA Terpadu menyelenggarakan Seminar Regional dengan Tema: Penguatan Kompetensi Penelitian Pendidikan bagi Dosen dan Mahasiswa di Gedung D5 dengan menghadirkan narasumber Prof Dr Sugiyono MPd dari Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Sabtu (9/9).

Prof Sugiyono menyampaikan paparannya mengenai metode penelitian yaitu tentang jenis-jenis data, teknik sampling, analisis data, deskripsi dan detail penelitian kualitatif, penelitian kuantitatif, serta penelitian kombinasi antara kualitatif dan kuantitatif (mix method). Para peserta kegiatan ini sangat mengapresiasi kehadiran Prof. Sugiyono yang merupakan penulis berbagai buku best seller diantaranya Metode Penelitian, Metode Penelitian Administrasi, dan Metode Penelitian Bisnis. Karya beliau telah disitasi oleh kurang lebih 1200 penulis di seluruh Indonesia mulai tahun 2012 hingga sekarang. Sebuah angka yang luar biasa mengingat pentingnya karya beliau sebagai landasan teori dan landasan penelitian kependidikan di sekolah-sekolah maupun perguruan tinggi di seluruh Indonesia.

Sementara itu, Ketua Jurusan IPA Novi Ratna Dewi MPd mengatakan kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membatu dosen dalam membimbing skripsi dan mahasiswa tingkat akhir ang sedang menyusun proposal skripsi dalam menentukan metode penelitian yang tepat untuk memecahkan masalah dalam pendidikan IPA. Ia juga berharap kedepannya, seminar serupa diharapkan dapat dilaksanakan secara rutin dan dapat diwadahi untuk agenda kegiatan akademik Jurusan IPA Terpadu seperti kuliah umum, dosen tamu, maupun penelitian kolaborasi antar perguruan tinggi.
