LP2M: Lemah Publikasi, Jurnal Penelitian Dosen Butuh Strategi

Publikasi bagi hasil penelitian dalam bentuk jurnal ilmiah bereputasi masih belum banyak dilakukan oleh dosen. Padahal, jurnal ilmiah taka akan diakui bila belum terpublikasi. Hal ini mengemuka dalam Workshop Strategi Menembus Jurnal Ilmiah Bereputasi International, Selasa (10/12) di Hotel Grasia Semarang. Acara yang terselenggara oleh Lembaga Peneliti dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LP2M) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) ini mengupas strategi publikasi yang sering diabaikan peneliti.

Selama tahun 2013 ini saja, misalnya, 222 peneliti telah melakuakn riset dan memaparkan hasil penelitiannya, tetapi belum dapat dikatakan sebagai luaran yang unggul. “Workshop ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan dosen dalam menulis artikel ilmiah, terutama artikel yang di hasilkan dari penelitian,” ujar Drs Sunyoto Msi, Kepala Pusat Sains dan Teknologi LP2M.

Jurnal unggulan seharusnya juga tak hanya berhenti pada penelitian dan dibukukan tetapi bisa menjadi produk dan terpublikasikan agar berguna bagi masyarakat luas. “Salah satunya hal teknis adalah mengenali jurnal – jurnal dengan impact faktor yang tinggi, yakni dengan melakukan survei mengenai jenis artikel dan kondisi pengiriman artikel, memeriksa direktori di Universitas, menanyakan kepada rekan yang ahli, dan melakukan pencarian kutipan dimana penulis terkenal mempublikasikannya,” kata Sekretaris LP2M Prof Dr Etty Soesilowati Msi.

Narasumber utama pada workshop ini adalah Prof Dr Suminar Setiati Achmadi Guru Besar Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) dan juga tim pengembang jurnal Direktorat Perguruan Tinggi Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan. Dalam paparannya Prof Dr Suminar menyatakan keinternationalan kepakaran Mitra Bestari (MB) ditentukan oleh jumlah publikasi berbahasa asing, keseringan karya/pendapatnya dipacu secara luas, keterlibatan kecendikiaannya dalam forum ilmiah international, dan bentuk pengakuan berbobot lain.

MB dinyatakan berkaliber international jika dalam 3 tahun terakhir sekurang-kurangnya pernah menulis sebuah artikel yang terbit bereputasi international, ”MB bebestari berkaliber nasional jika dalam 3 tahun terakhir sekurang-kurangnya pernah menulis sebuah artikel sebagi penulis utama atau penulis korespodensi yang terbit berkala terakreditasi”, katanya.
