Julukan Universitas Konservasi Bukan Hanya Nama

Julukan Universitas Negeri Semarang sebagai Universitas Konservasi bukan hanya nama. Hal ini terbukti dari banyaknya kampus lain yang berguru tentang penghijauan dan tata kelola lingkungan kampus dari perguruan tinggi asuhan Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum itu.

Demikian pula alasan Universitas Negeri Medan (Unimed) yang akan berguru ke Unnes. “Kami datang di Unnes ingin belajar menghijaukan kampus kami,” kata Rektor Unimed Prof Dr Ibnu Hajar Damanik saat penandatanganan nota kesepahaman di Gedung H Kampus Unnes sekaran Gunungpati, Senin(2/9).

Bukan hanya itu, kunjungan ini juga sekaligus menyerahkan 8 mahasiswa Unimed yang akan kuliah di Unnes mulai semester gasal tahun pelajaran 2013/2014, “selama satu semester mereka akan menempuh pendidikan di Unnes, 2 mahasiswa berasal dari 4 program studi yakni Pendidikan Matematika, Pendidikan Kimia, Pendidikan Biologi, dan Pendidikan Fisika,“kata Rektor Unimed

Menurut Prof Ibnu, Pihaknya berminat menjalankan program ini setelah mengetahui bahwa Unnes adalah salah satu Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan (LPTK) terbaik di Indonesia.

“Selama ini kami menjalin kerja sama pertukaran mahasiswa dengan universitas luar negeri. Tapi sekarang kami tahu, Unnes adalah salah satu LPTK terbaik di Indonesia sehingga kami perlu juga melaksanakan kerja sama ini dengan Unnes,” terangnya.

Menyambut kerja sama ini, Rektor Unnes didampingi Pembantu Rektor Bidang Akademik Unnes Dr Agus Wahyudin MSi, Dekan, dan beberapa pejabat di Unnes mengatakan untuk membangun Unnes menjadi Universitas Konservasi harus disinergikan dari semua aspek di lingkungan pendidikan. Tidak hanya konservasi lingkungan tapi juga konservasi sosial dan budaya. “Kuncinya adalah harmonisasi konservasi, harus berimbang antara hak dan kewajiban,” ungkap Prof Fathur.

Penerimaan 8 mahasiswa ini juga ditandai dengan pemakaian jas almamater oleh Rektor pada 2 orang wakil mahasiswa dari Unimed yaitu Khairul Ikhsan Pane dan Rizki Rino Pratama.
