Jangan Takut untuk Menulis

Perasaan takut banyak dimiliki mahasiswa yang belajar menulis. Ketakutan itu makin menjadi ketika tulisan dipandang tidak layak bahkan tidak jarang menuai kritik.

“Pasti ada rasa takut dan khawatir yang menghalangi kita untuk mencoba menulis, akan tetapi setelah kita berhasil maka segalanya akan kita dapatkan,” kata Kepala UPT Humas Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Sucipto Hadi Purnomo, saat memberikan materi dalam Seminar Jurnalistik Hima Teknologi Pendidikan Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Unnes, Sabtu (1/6).

Kegiatan bertema “Explore Your Self with Journalistics” itu dihadiri 115 peserta. Sucipto banyak memberikan motivasi supaya mahasiswa tidak takut dan khawatir dalam menulis. “Apa pun dapat digunakan sebagai bahan tulisan, misalnya tentang kejadian di sekitar, atau gagasan yang ingin kita sampaikan kepada orang lain,” ujarnya.

Dalam menulis, Sucipto menandasakan, para penulis hendaknya mempunyai motivasi yang kuat. Ibarat ingin mendapatkan hati seseorang, seseorang akan rela hujan-hujanan dan menghabiskan waktu bersama.

“Maka ketika menulis, kita harus rela berkorban untuk menuliskan apa yang ada dipikiran dan menyempatkan waktu untuk menuliskannya,” jelas Sucipto. Seminar diadakan sebagai mata kuliah umum jurnalistik bagi mahasiswa TP semester empat dan enam.

Memberitakan

Sementara itu, narasumber lain Drs Achmad Munib MH MSi menyampaikan bahwa setiap orang menantikan untuk diberitakan dan memberitakan. Saat ini, menurutnya, berita yang ada sebagian besar disajikan melalui tulisan.

“Oleh sebab itu, sebuah tulisan bisa mengubah cara berpikir seseorang, bahkan hanya dengan sebuah tulisan seseorang dapat mengubah dunia,” katanya.

Seminar berlangsung komunikatif . Antusiasme peserta untuk menulis terlihat dari berbagai pertanyaan yang disampaikan setelah mendapatkan materi dari narasumber.

Seminar dihadiri pula Dekan FIP Unnes Drs Hardjono MPd, dan beberapa unsur pimpinan dan dosen di lingkungan FIP Unnes.
