IPK Tinggi Mudah Cari Kerja? Belum Tentu

Banyak mahasiswa dan alumni beranggapan Indek Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK) tinggi akan mudah mendapatkan pekerjaan. Tetapi faktanya, masih banyak orang ber-IPK tinggi gagal dalam tes seleksi untuk diterima kerja di perusahaan idaman.

IPK sebenarnya hanya syarat awal bagi para pelamar kerja. Dari IPK itu si pelamar dinilai apakah dia serius atau tidak dalam mendalami ilmu yang telah dipilih untuk kuliah. IPK yang menunjukkan suatu keberhasilan prestasi akademik belum cukup dalam menghadapi dunia kerja yang kompleks.

Demikian dikatakan Lucia Trisni MSi dosen Fakultas Psikologi Unika Soegijapranata Semarang, Selasa (30/9) saat menjadi pembicara pada pembekalan calon wisudawan periode III Unnes, di Gedung Serba Guna Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Kampus Sekaran Gunungpati.

“Jadi IPK kini bukan satu-satunya alasan bisa diterima kerja atau tidak, karena masih banyak kriteria lain yang dibutuhkan perusahaan dalam merekrut calon pegawainya,” kata Lucia.

Kriteria itu antara lain, tenaga kerja yang sehat, berwawasan luas, profesional, bermotivasi tinggi, mampu menyesuaikan etika kerja, memiliki sikap kreatif, fleksibel, memiliki berbagai keahlian, bisa bekerja sama dalam tim, mempunyai keyakinan, memahami bisnis, dan berorientasi pada kualitas serta pelanggan, kata Lucia.

Pemateri lain, Sungkana SPd MPd dari Dinas Pendidikan Jawa Tengah mengulas tentang Peluang dan Tantangan Kerja di Dunia Pendidikan.

Ketua panitia Dwi Astuti MPd melaporkan pembekalan ini agar para calon wisudawan memiliki kepampuan dalam bersaing di masyarakat dan memiliki integritas diri dalam memasuki dunia kerja. Juga untuk memberi informasi mengenai peluang dan tantangan kerja di dunia pendidikan dan mengarahkan untuk mempersiapkan diri dalam menghadapi tantangan kerja di era persaingan global.
