Inovasi Pendidikan Inklusif, Mahasiswa UNNES Pamerkan Alat Peraga Matematika untuk Disabilitas

Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menyelenggarakan Gelar Karya Alat Peraga Pendidikan Matematika Inklusif pada Jumat (19/12). Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian akhir dari perkuliahan mata kuliah Pendidikan Matematika Inklusif.

Melalui kegiatan tersebut, mahasiswa menampilkan sejumlah alat peraga pembelajaran matematika yang dikembangkan untuk mendukung proses belajar peserta didik penyandang disabilitas. Alat peraga tersebut dirancang untuk siswa tuna rungu, tuna netra, tuna grahita, serta peserta didik berkebutuhan khusus lainnya.

Dosen Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika UNNES, Dr. Drs. Sugiman, M.Si., menyampaikan bahwa Gelar Karya ini merupakan hasil proyek mahasiswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran teori serta melakukan observasi dan praktik langsung di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB). Menurutnya, mahasiswa dibekali pengalaman merancang media pembelajaran yang selaras dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristik siswa disabilitas.

“Mahasiswa juga melakukan uji coba terhadap alat peraga yang dikembangkan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesesuaian dan kebermanfaatannya bagi peserta didik,” ujarnya.

Lebih lanjut, Sugiman menjelaskan bahwa mata kuliah Pendidikan Matematika Inklusif merupakan mata kuliah pilihan yang telah dilaksanakan selama beberapa tahun. Pada awalnya, kegiatan ini dikembangkan melalui program Extra Curriculum Training (ECT) bagi mahasiswa yang memiliki minat pada pendidikan khusus. Seiring meningkatnya animo mahasiswa, mata kuliah tersebut kemudian dimasukkan ke dalam kurikulum perkuliahan.

Beragam media pembelajaran inovatif ditampilkan dalam kegiatan ini, mulai dari alat bantu pengenalan konsep waktu, permainan matematika berbasis visual, hingga media berhitung yang disesuaikan dengan kemampuan peserta didik disabilitas. Kehadiran alat peraga tersebut diharapkan dapat membantu siswa memahami materi matematika secara lebih konkret dan menyenangkan.

Salah satu karya yang dipamerkan adalah Monopoli Waktu (Moku), media pembelajaran yang dirancang untuk membantu siswa tuna rungu mengenal konsep jam dan menit melalui permainan. Media ini dikembangkan dengan memperhatikan aspek keamanan, kemudahan penggunaan, serta kesesuaian dengan kebutuhan peserta didik.

Selain dimanfaatkan sebagai media pembelajaran, karya mahasiswa juga diarahkan untuk memiliki nilai keberlanjutan melalui pengajuan hak cipta.

Dengan demikian, alat peraga yang dihasilkan diharapkan tidak hanya bermanfaat bagi peserta didik disabilitas, tetapi juga dapat digunakan secara lebih luas dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk meningkatkan literasi numerasi.
