Ingin Sukses Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa? Yuk Ikuti International Education Week

Untuk tahun kedua, Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes), akan menyelenggarakan pameran pendidikan internasional dan belajar ke luar negeri dalam rangka memperingati International Education Week (IEW).

Atas inisiatif bersama antara Departemen Luar Negeri Amerika Serikat dan Departemen Pendidikan Amerika Serikat, International Education Week (IEW) merupakan sebuah kesempatan untuk merayakan manfaat dari pendidikan internasional dan pertukaran pelajar dunia.

IEW diselenggarakan untuk mempersiapkan mahasiswa menghadapi lingkungan global yang kompetitif.

Ms. Erica Balazs, English Language Fellow (ELF) dari the Regional English Language Office (RELO) kedutaan besar Amerika Serikat, yang ditempatkan di Unnes, telah bekerja sama dengan mahasiswa Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris untuk menjadi panitia penyelenggara pameran pendidikan internasional tahun ini.

Acara tersebut akan diselenggarakan pada tanggal 20 November 2014 di gedung B8 ruang 101, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni (FBS) Unnes pada pukul 09.30 WIB.

Berbagai acara menyangkut pendidikan internasional akan digelar pada pameran pendidikan internasional tersebut. Ada acara diskusi yang dikemas dengan talk show dan pameran poster oleh para alumni program Amerika yaitu dosen Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris yang pernah mendapat telah program pertukaran dari Kementrian Luar Negeri AS dan dosen pemeroleh beasiswa dari pemerintah Amerika Serikat untuk mengikuti online course dengan Oregon University.

Selain itu, diumumkan pula mahasiswa Jurusan bahasa dan Sastra Inggris yang selama ini mendapat IAS (International Academic Supervision) dan telah berhasil diterima untuk nantinya melanjutkan studi S2 di SIT University, AS.

Keberhasilan proses pembimbingan mahasiswa terseleksi sampai mereka diterima di perguruan tinggi di AS merupakan keberhasilan terbesar dari program hosting English Language Fellow (ELF) di Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris. Pengumuman untuk mahasiswa yang terpilih dalam pogram IAS tahap 2 juga akan disampaikan dalam acara IEW ini.

Dalam acara IEW ini juga akan disediakan informasi mengenai program pertukaran pelajar Indonesia-Amerika dan diskusi dengan Fulbright English Teaching Assistants yang ditempatkan di MAN1 dan MAN2.
