Iakatan Mahasiswa Prodi Sastra Perancis berencana menggelar event Unnes Fashion Week untuk pertama kali pada Desember 2014. Untuk menyukseskan acara itu, penyelenggara baru saja melakukan kompetisi pencarian model (search model competition), Senin (1/11).

Ketua pelaksana Amira Husna Budi Handayani memaparkan, Model Search Competition merupakan salah satu dari tiga pre-event Unnes Fashion Week 2014 yang bertujuan mencari 15 model terbaik untuk menjadi official model.

“Lima belas model ini nantinya akan tampil di peragaan busana Unnes Fashion Week 2014 pada Desember nanti, dan juga menjadi official model pada poster dan media publikasi lainnya,” ujar Amira.

Dalam audisi ini, Amira menuturkan, ada tiga tahap penyeleksian. Tahap pertama adalah photoshoot, lalu video shoot, dan yang terakhir penilaian runway. Seluruh tahap tersebut dinilai oleh empat dewan juri yang sudah ahli pada bidangnya masing-masing. Mereka adalah Mardiana dari Wardah Kosmetik, Dimash dari Linc Photography, Rizky Hafizan dari Lookbook Semarang, dan Puja Sumantri dari Unnes Fashion Week.

“Antusias dari para peserta cukup tinggi. Terlihat dari pesertanya yang tidak hanya dari kawasan Semarang, tetapi banyak juga yang berasal dari luar kota seperti Yogyakarta, Solo, Purwokerto sampai Tegal,” paparnya.

Unnes Fashion Week 2014 sendiri merupakan acara fashion week tingkat universitas pertama yang diadakan di kawasan Jawa Tengah dan Yogyakarta. Acara ini akan diselenggarakan pada 5 sampai 7 Desember 2014, bertempat di gedung B6 Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Unnes.

Selain Model Search Competition, ada juga dua pre-event lainnya yang diadakan dalam rangka Unnes Fashion Week 2014, yakni Mix Mode dan The Young Designer.

“Pre-event Mix Mode kita buat khusus untuk para fashionista yang hobi memadupadankan busana. Kalau The Young Designer merupakan pre-event yang dibuat untuk mewadahi bakat-bakat dari para designer muda,” tutur Amira.

Atas diadakannya kegiatan ini, Amira berharap dunia fashion khususnya di Semarang dapat mendapat perhatian lebih dari anak muda. Selain itu, ia berharap agar main event yang akan dilaksanakan pada Desember nanti dapat berjalan sukses dan lancar.

“Sesuai konsep yang kita usung, yakni Urban Campus, semoga Unnes Fashion Week 2014 dapat memberikan dampak yang positif di dunia fashion, khususnya bagi mahasiswa,” pungkasnya.
