IC Lock, Kendaraan Tetap Aman meski Dibobol Maling

Pencurian kendaraan bermotor meresahkan Nanang Syahidin dan Rebono, dua mahasiswa Jurusan Teknik Mesin Fakultas Teknik (FT) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes). Kecenderungan kasus pencurian terus meningkat dari  tahun ke tahun. Periode Mei 2012 lalu, misalnya, lebih dari 1.600 mobil dan sepeda motor dicuri.

Menjawab persoalan itu, Nanang dan Bono menciptakan Integrated Cirkuit (IC) Locked atau sistem penguncian cerdas. Alat ini bisa mengeset kunci kendaraan bermotor cukup dengan menghubungkan kabel pengodean dengan salah satu fitur kendaraan. Dengan alat ini motor dan mobil tak akan bisa dinyalakan meski kunci utama sudah dibobol maling.

“Kode bisa diseting oleh pemilik kendaraan sehingga hanya  diketahui oleh pemilik,” kata Nanang, Rabu (11/9), di Mataram Nusa Tenggara Barat.

“Kami buat dua tipe, yaitu 1L dan 2L. Tipe 1L menggunakan satu kode, misalnya dengan menyalakan lampu saja atau menyalakan satu sains saja. Kalau 2L, mesin kendaraan baru bisa dinyalakan setelah diberi dua kode, misalnya menyalakan lampu sains ke kiri sekaligus ke kanan,” terang Nanang.

Menurut Nanang, IC Lock bisa disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pemilik. Bisa 3L, 4L, atau sampai tidak terbatas. Semakin banyak kombinasi kode kendaraan akan semakin aman, tapi sekaligus semakin repot saat akan memasukkan kode itu.

“Berdasarkan penelitian kami, tipe 2L adalah tipe yang paling nyaman tapi tetap aman. Sesuai dengan slogan kami ‘Temukan kemudahan dalam pengamanan’,” terang Nanang.

Karya Nanang menjadi salah karya yang dipresentasikan tim Unnes dalam Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional (Pimnas) Ke-26 di Universitas Mataram, Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Lantaran relatif orisinal, karya “duo” Nanang-Bono mendapat pujian dari Dr M Alfian Mizar MP, salah satu juri PKM Bidang Teknologi.

“Para juri menyarankan kami untuk segera mengurus paten. Kami juga berharap teknologi ini bisa segera dimanfaatkan masyarakat luas dan mendapat paten,” katanya.

Pimnas Ke-26 telah digelar sejak Senin (9/9) dan dijadwalkan akan ditutup Kamis (12/9) malam. Pada penutupan itu, juri akan mengumumkan pemenang di tiap-tiap kategori. Unnes mengirimkan 74 mahasiswa dari 19 tim dalam event tahunan yang digelar Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan ini.
