Prof Hardi: Hidup Itu Butuh Tahu Matematika

Giliran pakar filsafat matematika Prof Dr Hardi Suyitno MPd yang “turun gunung”. Kali ini, profesor Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) itu datang untuk berinteraksi dengan guru serta Siswa di MTs Asy Syarifah Mranggen Demak.

Kahadiran Prof Hardi, Senin (25/11), sebagai bagian dari program Professors Go to Schools. Hadir tak hanya membawa kegembiraan dan semangat bagi sekira 260 siswa dan 20 guru, tetapi sekaligus menginspirasi mereka. Terutama dalam konsteks implementasi Kurikulum 2013.

Di ruang kelas, di hadapan tiga puluhan siswa, Prof Hardi bertanya, “Apakah hidup itu butuh matematika?”

Tanpa menunggu jawaban siswa, Prof Hardi menyambung, “Sangat butuh.”

Mengapa? “Sebagai contoh orang shalat, ia harus tahu matematika. Shalat magrib tiga rakaat, shalat isya empat rakaat. Kalau tidak tahu matematika, khususnya berhitung, tidak akan benar dalam mengerjakan shalat. Jadi, hidup itu butuh tahu matematika,” katanya.

Tak lupa mantan DEkan FMIPA Unnes itu memotivasi siswa untuk selalu berusaha, berdoa, dan belajar dengan sungguh-sungguh. “Kelak di antara kalian ada yang kuliah di Unnes, Universitas Gadja Mada, Universitas Indonesia, dan sebagainya. Setelah berhasil studi, ada yang jadi dosen, ahli hukum, ekonom, ustad atau kiai,” ujarnya.

Kepala MTs Asy Syarifah, Ulin Nuha SS mengatakan, kehadiran profesor sambut dengan gembira oleh guru dan siswa. “Ini langkah awal yang positif untuk selalu menjalin kerja sama dengan profesor. Kami berharap program ini berkesinambungan untuk mendampingi kami,” katanya.

Untuk membangun sinerge, pihaknya akan mengadakan seminar khusus tentang implementasi Kurikulum 2013 bagi guru MTs se-Kecamatan Mranggen Demak, Minggu 1 Desember 2013 pukul 08.00 di Aula MTs Asy Syarifah Mranggen. Narasumbernya Prof Dr Hardi Suyitno MPd.

    Saya jadi ingat pernah dimarahi oleh Prof. Hardi, meski saya dari jurusan Fisika. Saya yakin, marah beliau adalah wujud kasih sayang kepada anak didiknya. Terima kasih, prof.
