Hanya 49 Perguruan Tinggi Terakreditasi A, UNNES Salah Satunya

Dari sekitar 4.300 perguruan tinggi di Indonesia, hanya 49 yang memperoleh akreditasi A (unggul). Dari jumlah tersebut, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) adalah salah satunya.

Menteri Riset Teknologi dan Pendidikan Tinggi (Menristek Dikti) Prof Dr Mohamad Nasir mengapresiasi pencapaian besar UNNES tersebut, Jumat (27/1). Ia berharap pencapaian itu bisa dijadikan landasan awal agar UNNES bisa segera meraih prestasi berikutnya, yaitu menjadi universitas bereputasi internasional.

Usai menyampaikan kuliah umum di hadapan civitas academica, Menristekdikti menyampaikan langsung surat keputusan akreditasi A Nomor  3174/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/PT/XII/206 kepada Rektor Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman.

Menurut Nasir, predikat akreditasi A UNNES  tidak main-main karena belum banyak perguruan tinggi yang mendapatkannya. “Ini bukan akhir, tapi justru merupakan awal agar UNNES berprestasi di tahun 2017. Capaian itu harus jadi tantangan besar yang dihadapi dengan inovasi, untuk memperkuat kapasitas universitas mewujudkan visinya,” katanya.

Dalam proses akreditasi, lanjut Nasir, pihaknya tidak mengintervensi BAN-PT. Ia hanya melakukan pendampingan kepada perguruan tinggi agar memantapkan kualitasnya.

Peningkatan Publikasi

Setelah mendapatkan akreditasi A, UNNES diharapkan semakin prima. Salah satu indikatornya adalah produktivitas dosen dalam publikasi karya ilmiah di jurnal internasional.

“UNNES sampai pada awal tahun ini jumlah publikasi ilmiahnya naik 100%. Saya akan tagih perguruan tinggi lain untuk tingkatkan itu. Nyatanya UNNES bisa, kenapa yang lain tidak?” tegasnya.

Rektor UNNES Fathur Rokhman mengatakan bahwa akreditasi adalah salah satu penanda penting dalam sejarah Universitas Berwawasan Konservasi ini. Di satu sisi, lanjutnya, capaian itu patut disyukuri dan dibanggakan. Hasil ini adalah bukti kerja nyata penuh integritas seluruh komponen;  mahasiswa, dosen, tenaga kependidikan, pimpinan, alumni, dan mitra kerja.

Di masa depan menurut Fathur, akreditasi memperkuat kepercayaan publik bahwa UNNES adalah perguruan tinggi unggul. Pengakuan demikian tidak hanya bersifat institusional, tetapi juga pada individu sehingga membawa manfaat besar bagi mahasiswa dan alumni.
