Guru Sudah Profesional Jika Murid Senang dan Pahami Pelajaran

Seorang guru disebut profesional dan berkarakter jika muridnya senang ketika diajar, mampu menerima pelajaran dengan baik, dan tujuan pembelajaran tercapai.

Guru Besar bidang Pendidikan Luar Sekolah di Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes), Prof Dr Tri Joko Raharjo MPd, menyampaikan hal itu di SMP Negeri 3 Klaten, Rabu (28/5).

“Sebaliknya, jika mengajar tidak dengan sepenuh hati, maka pelajarannya itu tidak dapat diterima dengan baik oleh murid-muridnya. Seorang guru seperti itu sungguh sangat disayangkan,” kata dia, di hadapan 70 guru yang tergabung dalam Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran IPS.

Kehadiran Prof Tri Joko merupakan bagian dari Program Profesor dan Doktor Go to School yang bertujuan mengawal Implementasi Kurikulum 2013. Pertemuan itu bertema “Membangun Pelaksanaan Kurikulum 2013 bagi Pendidik yang Profesional dan Berkarakter Menuju Klaten Bersinar”.

Hadir pula Kepala Seksi Sekolah Menengah Pertama Dinas Pendidikan Klaten Drs Suramlan MPd dan Pengawas SMP Drs Surono MPd.

“Selain mengajar dengan hati, seorang guru profesional dan berkarakter juga punya sifat humanis. Perkataan dan perbuatannya juga selaras,” ujarnya.

Pentingnya Karakter

Pria kelahiran Klaten, 1 Maret 1959 itu mengemukakan, ketika kehilangan harta, kita masih bisa mencarinya. Ketika kehilangan kesehatan, kita merasa ada sebagian yang hilang.

“Namun ketika kehilangan karakter, kita kehilangan semuanya. Nah, jika seorang pendidik sudah kehilangan karakternya hancurlah negeri ini,” tegasnya.

Pada umumnya, menurut dia, seorang pendidik harusnya memiliki cinta kasih terhadap murid sama dengan dia mencintai anak sendiri. Rasa cinta kasih seorang pendidik harus diwujudkan dengan sikap ramah, sabar, terbuka, mau mengerti kesulitan peserta didik, dan suka menolong.

“Seorang guru jika memberi pelajaran menginginkan sang murid bisa memahami pelajarannya, serta merasa sangat bahagia jika pelajaran itu bermanfaat untuk muridnya. Itulah mengajar dengan hati,” ujarnya. “Guru harus membuat perencanaan pengajaran yang menarik dan disukai murid.”

Prof Joko Mengatakan, ketika mengajar, stamina guru harus terjaga dengan wajah yang segar. Perhatian ditujukan sepenuhnya kepada murid supaya mereka paham betul. “Untuk merekam nilai-nilai kognitif, psikomotorik, dan afektif, guru harus hafal nama dan wajah murid sehingga perkembangannya terpantau. Setelah mengajar, kemudian dievaluasi mana yang perlu diubah dan ditambah,” katanya.
