“GradMap 2025” Dorong Mahasiswa Sastra Inggris Siapkan Strategi Karier Sejak Dini

Mahasiswa Program Studi Sastra Inggris semester VI menyelenggarakan seminar bertajuk GradMap pada Minggu, 15 Juni 2025, di Aula Dekanat Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan dan Psikologi (FIPP) Universitas Negeri Semarang. Acara ini menghadirkan Muhammad Natifianto SPsi, seorang Training Development Specialist sekaligus CEO Genius Semarang.

Mengangkat tema “A Roadmap for Students in Career Planning”, kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membekali mahasiswa dengan wawasan karier dan strategi pengembangan diri sejak dini. Melalui pendekatan praktis dan inspiratif, peserta diajak untuk mengenali potensi diri serta memahami pentingnya perencanaan karier yang matang di era kompetitif saat ini.

Dalam pemaparannya, Natifianto menekankan bahwa persiapan karier tidak hanya dimulai setelah lulus kuliah.

“Perencanaan karier itu sebaiknya dimulai saat masih jadi mahasiswa. Mahasiswa perlu tahu dulu siapa dirinya, baru kemudian merancang jalur karier yang ingin ditempuh,” jelasnya.

Materi yang disampaikan mencakup langkah strategis dalam perencanaan karier, yaitu persiapan penting sebelum melamar pekerjaan, teknik negosiasi gaji bagi lulusan baru, dan panduan membangun karir sepuluh tahun ke depan.

Dr Rahayu Puji Haryanti, Koordinator Program Studi S-1 Sastra Inggris, dalam sambutannya menyampaikan harapannya agar mahasiswa dapat lebih siap menghadapi tantangan dunia kerja.

“Melalui kegiatan ini, saya berharap mahasiswa tidak hanya memahami teori perencanaan karier, tetapi juga mampu mempraktikkannya secara langsung dalam kehidupan profesional mereka ke depan,” ujarnya.

Ketua Panitia, Sania Liu, menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membuka wawasan mahasiswa terkait pentingnya perencanaan karier sejak dini.

Hal ini turut mendukung SDGs 17 (Sustainable Development Goal 17) yang menekankan pentingnya kemitraan untuk mencapai tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan, termasuk dalam mendukung strategi karir mahasiswa sejak dini. Melalui kerja sama dengan mitra yang telah memiliki rekam jejak karir yang baik, institusi pendidikan dapat membuka akses mahasiswa pada peluang magang, mentoring, pelatihan industri, dan jaringan profesional yang relevan.

Dengan jumlah peserta mencapai lebih dari 150 orang, GradMap 2025 menjadi bukti bahwa mahasiswa memiliki kepedulian tinggi terhadap masa depan karier mereka. Acara ini juga mendapat apresiasi dari peserta karena menyajikan materi yang relevan, inspiratif, dan mudah dipahami.
