Gelar FGD, Atdikbud Timor Leste dan UNNES Perkuat Kualitas Pendidikan Tinggi

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) dan Atase Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Atdikbud) Timor Leste menggelar Focus Group Discussion (FGD) pada Jumat (28/7/2023) bertempat di Ruang 407 Gedung Rektorat UNNES. FGD dipimpin oleh Kepala Kantor Urusan Internasional (KUI) UNNES, Lulu April Farida, S.Pd., M.Pd.

Selain Kepala KUI, turut hadir Wakil Dekan; Direktur Akademik, Kemahasiswaan, dan Konservasi; Kepala Kantor Penjaminan Mutu; Sekretaris KUI; Kasubdit Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan; Kasubdit Kerja Sama dan Reputasi; Koordinator Program Studi; Kepala Administrasi dan Keuangan KUI; serta mahasiswa asal Timor Leste yang tengah menempuh pendidikan di UNNES. Sementara dari pihak Atdikbud Timor Leste, hadir Alvaro Manuel Guteres (Atase Pendidikan), Mario Pinto (Wakil Atase Pendidikan) dan Deni Sekarsari (Lokal Staf Atase Pendidikan).

FGD ini menjadi kesempatan bagi para peserta untuk membahas berbagai program dan proyek pendidikan yang dapat diimplementasikan di Timor Leste, serta mengeksplorasi kemungkinan kerjasama jangka panjang antara Atdikbud dan UNNES, termasuk dalam hal penerimaan mahasiswa baru.

“Ada 3 jalur penerimaan mahasiswa yang studi di Indonesia. Pertama, melalui kerjasama antara Kementerian Pendidikan Timor Leste dengan universitas-universitas yang ada di Indonesia. Kedua, melalui koordinasi langsung antara universitas di Indonesia dengan KBRI Timor Leste yang ada di Jakarta untuk mengadakan proses seleksi langsung terhadap calon calon mahasiswa. Ketiga, melalui inisiatif sendiri dimana mahasiswa yang bersangkutan langsung menghubungi dan mendaftarkan diri ke universitas untuk mengikuti proses seleksi agar diterima di Universitas tersebut,” ucap Atase Timor Leste, Alvaro Manuel Guteres.

Saat ini, terdapat 11 mahasiswa Timor Leste yang masih aktif studi di UNNES, terdiri dari 2 mahasiswa jenjang S2 dan 9 mahasiswa jenjang S1. Sebagian besar mahasiswa tersebut mendapatkan beasiswa, baik yang bersumber dari pemerintah (LPDP) maupun yang berasal UNNES.

“Kami memiliki satu mahasiswa Timor Leste yang sedang menempuh program S1 Psikologi yang bernama Stefania Ovito yang masuk di kelas internasional. Di awal semester memang mahasiswa tersebut memiliki rasa percaya diri yang kurang, namun seiring berjalannya waktu di semester 3 ini ada progress signifikan sehingga yang bersangkutan bisa meraih IPK 3,24. Di semester 3 ini sudah ada perkembangan terutama kepercayaan diri maupun bersosialisasi bersama mahasiswa lainnya. Ia juga aktif mengikuti kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dan kewirausahaan,” ungkap Wakil Dekan Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan FIPP UNNES, Farid Ahmadi, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D.

Kerjasama antara Timor Leste dan UNNES ini menandai langkah maju dalam kualitas pendidikan di Timor Leste, dengan harapan bahwa melalui kolaborasi yang erat, kedua belah pihak dapat mencapai terobosan-terobosan signifikan dalam dunia pendidikan, memberikan manfaat nyata bagi generasi mendatang.
