The Architecture Student Association (KMA) of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) at UNNES successfully held ETALASE 2025, themed “Shape the Space: Where Design Builds Your Mind,” which ran for two days, November 8-9, 2025, at the Oudetrap Building in Semarang’s Old Town.
The theme specifically highlighted architectural design innovations that care about mental health. The exhibition also provided a platform for students to showcase their work, emphasizing human mental well-being as the core of design.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) at UNNES, Prof. Dr. Wirawan Sumbodo, M.T., emphasized that ETALASE 2025 is an educational process aimed at producing reliable architects who are relevant to the needs of the times.

“This is a continuous development to help architecture students grow into human resources capable of creating outstanding works needed by society,” he emphasized during an interview at the Oudetrap Building in Semarang’s Old Town on Saturday (November 8, 2025).
Meanwhile, Martha Afinda Christine, Chair of the ETALASE 2025 Committee, explained that this event aims to educate the public that architecture plays a role beyond aesthetics and function.
“Architecture doesn’t just focus on function or form, but also examines how humans interact with the designs created by that architecture. This is so that the wider public can be more aware of the mental health aspects that can be felt or influenced by architectural design,” she said.
ETALASE 2025 was filled with various comprehensive activities. The first day (November 8) focused on the main exhibition and a knowledge-sharing session on the topic “Shaping Paths, From Studio to Reality.” The second day (November 9) featured presentations of student work and concluded with an alumni gathering to strengthen the network between active students and alumni who have become active in the professional world.
The implementation of ETALASE 2025 includes SDGs points, including SDG 3 (Good Health), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
