Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) Philippines officially established a partnership with Semarang State University (UNNES), Indonesia, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOA) signed on September 3, 2025, at the NEUST Mini Convention Center.
In her remarks, NEUST President, Dr. Rhodora Jugo, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating: “Through this collaboration, we aspire to create more opportunities for joint research, faculty and student development, and community-oriented programs that have a lasting impact on society and the world.”
Under this agreement, NEUST and UNNES will implement reciprocal programs to expand academic offerings, provide study abroad opportunities for students, and build intercultural competency.
Each year, NEUST and UNNES will jointly develop at least one joint research project, focusing on cooperative studies, co-authored publications, academic conferences, and community-based research.
An annual faculty exchange is also part of this agreement, where selected faculty members from both institutions will deliver guest lectures, both in person and virtually, to foster pedagogical diversity and academic excellence.
Present at the MoA signing ceremony were Atty. Bembol Castillo, NEUST Legal Officer and Vice President for Business, Administration, and Finance, and Ar. Gregorio Villaviza Jr., Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, along with CoArch faculty, staff, and students.
Meanwhile, UNNES was represented by Ir. Didik Nopianto Agung Nugradi, M.T., Coordinator of the Architectural Engineering Study Program, along with Dr. Lulut Indrianingrum, S.T., M.T.; Wiwit Setyowati, S.T., M.Sc.; Sherley Ika Christanti, M.Arch.; and four exchange students: Hanif Radifan Musyafa, Aliya Zuhrotul Husna, Areno Bernadi Putra, and Ratna Safitri.
This activity is also included in SDG 17 (Partnerships to Achieve the Goals), making the partnership international in scale and ready to enhance UNNES’s reputation on the world stage.
