Semarang, Indonesia – The Kampus Merdeka Competition Program 2023-2024 has been actively implemented by students of the Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Program at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). This program, which is part of Indonesia’s Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative, aims to enhance students’ competencies through hands-on experience in real-world environments.
As part of the program, students have participated in two main activities: Industrial Internship at PPSDM Migas and Village Internship. These activities provide valuable opportunities for students to apply their academic knowledge, develop practical skills, and contribute to community development.
- Industrial Internship at PPSDM MigasSeveral students were placed at the Human Resource Development Center for Oil and Gas (PPSDM Migas), where they engaged in professional training and practical experience in the oil and gas industry. Through this internship, they gained insights into industrial operations, safety procedures, and technological advancements in petroleum processing. The experience helped them develop technical expertise and workplace readiness, preparing them for future careers in the energy sector.
- Village InternshipAnother group of students participated in the Village Internship program, where they collaborated with local communities to address various challenges, particularly in the fields of energy, waste management, and sustainable development. Through this program, students applied their engineering knowledge to create innovative solutions, such as designing environmentally friendly energy systems and optimizing local resources. This initiative not only benefited the students but also contributed to community empowerment and sustainable rural development.
The Kampus Merdeka Competition Program 2023-2024 has provided students with invaluable experiences beyond the classroom, equipping them with the necessary skills to become competent professionals in their respective fields. UNNES remains committed to supporting such programs, ensuring that students receive holistic education and practical exposure to meet industry and societal needs.
With the successful implementation of this program, UNNES continues to play a significant role in advancing education and fostering innovation among its students, ultimately contributing to Indonesia’s human resource development and technological progress.
