Four students from Semarang State University (UNNES), namely Nisrina Hasna’ Nabil (Chemical Engineering), Fika Nur Auralia (Chemical Engineering), Izza Azka Kamila (Management), and Safira Husnun Naza (Information Engineering) with the support of Prof. Dr. Wara Dyah Pita Rengga S.T., M.T. has succeeded in launching a creative product in the form of alternative soap from eco enzyme. This soap is named Ecozym. The idea for making this soap arose because they were concerned about the dangers of alcoholic antiseptics.
Alcoholic antiseptics are effective in killing germs, but they can cause skin irritation, especially on sensitive skin. “We want to create soap that is safe for the skin, as well as environmentally friendly,” said Safira.
Ecozym is made from natural ingredients with the main ingredients being eco enzyme and candlenut oil. Eco enzyme is a fermented liquid from fruits and vegetables that contains enzymes, acids and sugar. “Eco enzyme has antibacterial and antifungal properties, so it can kill germs without using chemicals. We hope that this soap can be accepted by the public and become a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to soap,” said Fika.
Ecozym soap has been tested and proven to be safe for the skin. This soap also has a fragrant aroma and can moisturize the skin. Currently, Ecozym soap is still in the development stage. The four students have marketed this soap online and offline.
